We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cabanas del Rio! Leo and his team were so helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was fabulous and generous, setting us up well for a day of activities in La Fortuna. And the frog walk was delightful! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the aircon was great. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked ourselves dinner a couple of times, which was a nice change to dining out. It is a bit out of town (which means it's nice and quiet!), but walkable and always easy to catch an Uber.

I enjoyed the hot springs being on site as well. It was like a small resort with stunning views of Arenal volcano.

This is an authentic Costa Rica experience, away from the mass tourism of La Fortuna but also close enough to get there in a few minutes (by car) or even walk. The cabin is spotless, cold AC, warm water and good WiFi. Carlos and Rosie are the most wonderful hosts. You're staying in a working farm, so you can milk cows (and drink fresh milk) and see some wild animals up close, including sloth, monkey and toucans. As others mention the hummingbirds like to congregate in the garden. There is a little country store nearby with a few essentials, and the community is real and safe. Nice country walks.

Amazing location and facilities. It felt like we were in a tropical paradise. The tents were large, spacious, clean and comfortable, surrounded by lush vegetation. The ladies at reception were so friendly and helpful. They organised all of our tours and called a taxi when we needed one. The facilities around the property were spectacular, and we loved getting to swim in the pool at night. It felt magical. It was quite overcast while we were there, so we didn’t have the view of the volcano, but that didn’t detract from the amazing environment at all. Great variety for breakfast. Close to many restaurants and the town centre. Highly recommend!

Boasting a garden and views of quiet street, Cabañas Montañas del Tenorio is a recently renovated villa situated in San Rafael, 46 km from Venado Caves. This place is magical. Unbelievable property with easy walking access to the turquoise waters of Rio Celeste. Hiking trails, resident sloth, great breakfast. Hostess couldn't have been more welcoming and kind. Very private b&b, tranquilo setting surrounded by cattle, horses, and very friendly dogs. House would be fabulous as a party house for family and friends: sleeps 7 with outfitted outdoor kitchen/party area.
