A comfortable vacation home close to Machans Beach, Steps to Sand Machans Beach offers a base for a hassle-free stay in Machans Beach. The house is simply incredible. We had 4 wonderful days in Cairns. The kitchen facilities exceeded all expectations. The hosts provided a detailed information folder. All questions were answered there. The key handover was very straightforward, and we could park the car directly in front of the property. The rooms were very clean, and the bed linens were delightfully fresh. All rooms are lovingly furnished. The garden is a little paradise. We had breakfast outside in the garden 3 times with a view of the ocean. It was wonderful. We would have loved to stay longer, and if we vacation in Australia again, we would book the house anytime. It was worth every dollar. The location is unique. Right on the coast. In 20 minutes by car, you can be in the city, and the Daintree is about 1 1/2 hours away by car. The Skyrail is also reachable by car in 20 minutes. A great starting point for excursions. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay in this wonderful house.

For our family, location great.
For our family, location great. Short trip from airport, quick lunch at Red Barron Hotel, changed for trip to venue at Redlynch. We were only there for a few hours but found it to be a 2 star rating. I would not book this again.

Very quiet part of Edge Hill where the apartment was.
Very quiet part of Edge Hill where the apartment was. Close to big IGA supermarket and lots of other shops, within walking distance. Edge Hill has lots of good eateries. Close to Botanic Gardens. A nice suburb of Cairns, only 10 minutes away from Cairns by car, about 10 minutes from the airport. Good location overall.

Cairns is nice and flat and most things are in walking...
Cairns is nice and flat and most things are in walking distance. Otherwise a taxi or Uber will get you where you need to go. Many great restaurants and steak houses. Try the Cock and Bull, they serve huge meals, offer kangaroo and croc on their menu and the staff are fantastic. A trip to Kuranda is a must if you have not been there before. I highly recommend taking the scenic railway up and the skyrail down. This allows for the best flexibility with time. Don't forget the islands and the reef. All are well worth a visit. If you like military things then the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum is a must. We go every time we are in Cairns. It is a private collection and there is always something new to see.

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Private and peaceful. A couple of good cafes/restaurants and a general store. 10min to the nearest supermarket and to the airport. 15 minutes to Cairns City. Great base to travel up to the northern beaches

There is so much to do in and around Cairns.
There is so much to do in and around Cairns. We opted for guided tours, which were a terrific way to see some of the area. We pre-booked (online) and did Kuranda by Skyrail and train, Cape Tribulation & Atherton Tablelands through Cairns Adventure Group, and the outer reef through Sunlover Reef Cruises. These were incredible tours and highly recommend all. Our tour operators also picked us up from our accomodation (The Green Place at Lakes Resort - incredible!!). A truly magical experience and one we’ll remember for years to come. The night markets had a great vibe, Rusty’s markets on Sunday were also terrific. So much to see and do, a week was the perfect break for our family of 4 - the kids can’t wait to go back. We chose to use Ubers rather than hire a car and this was much more convenient (and kinder on the wallet) for the week we spent ~$145AUD, and our accomodation was a 10 minute ride into town.
