I had a wonderful experience at Stansted Lodge Elsenham.
I had a wonderful experience at Stansted Lodge Elsenham. Communication with the owner was swift and very helpful. I arrived late at night, and due to a road closure, I struggled to find my way. The owner quickly sent directions, making the process much smoother. The room was spotless, warm, and quiet, perfect after a long journey. Free parking was provided in a spacious, well-lit area secured by CCTV, adding extra convenience. The next morning, the owner went the extra mile to help with transport, which I truly appreciated. The location is peaceful yet close to the airport. Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its closeness to the airport. A number of industrial units but no place to get a breakfast. I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the food is good. Stansted is easy to reach, and the hotel is close to the terminal with convenient onsite parking. Previously, I was told parking was on a first come, first served basis, which seemed fair enough. However, on my last visit I was informed after parking that no space was available as I had not booked in advance. If the policy had changed, this should have been made clear at the time of booking. We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived Key was in key box and did not work , we went into the pub to ask for help to be told it was nothing to do with them but she would try to contact someone, a man came and finally opened our room and to say we were disappointed was an understatement , tiny , dark , dirty , soap dispensers were empty , bedding smelled We had to sleep with door unlocked in case we couldn't get out again ! Bed was very comfortable and facilities in the room were good. Atmosphere in the public area (dining and bar) was a little lacking. Seating for a group of four having drinks just didn't exist - we ended up sitting on two settees that were alongside each other, ie four people sitting in a long line rather than facing each other.
