It is a nice place just to do nothing but it is not that beautiful. The resort we stayed at had absolutely nothing near or around it and the shuttle bus service was not consistent or frequent. To go to the gorge took 4 hours by bus, train and bus and walking. I would probably choose another beautiful place or island as a preference now I know this.Guest review byFionaAustralia - 10.0

One of the slightly less developed parts of Kyushu - a little touristy without being too busy. The locals are very friendly and the beach is perfect for surfing and chilling out. In Aoshima try Upper Yard burgers, Sanbarco fusion food and Aoshima Coffee. Also, don't miss Obi Castle town.
