The location couldn't be better, it is literally across the street from the airport. Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

Satomi, the host, was the most charming and thoughtful person. As a host, she was extremely helpful and I felt so at ease asking her for help with recommendations, help with reserving the ferry off the island, help for changing the drop off spot of my rental car, etc. She took the time to get to know me and ate with us in the common spaces. It was wonderful. The beds are comfy and super private, and they don’t shake. Many fans and air conditioning in the home. Large shower, many cooking utensils, and amenities in the outdoor kitchen. I was scared that I would hear the planes due to the proximity to the airport but I must have heard them twice over 5 days. The decoration is also wonderful and full of stories you can ask Satomi about. For a very very modest sum she made us some onigiris for lunch which was great too 😊

Extremely friendly and welcoming couple! The place is lively with a nice garden and perfect breakfast. Everything is very clean and comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay and we hardly recommend it.

Great surprise after 5 minutes car driving inside the montain is a very peaceful area. Very nice room, spacious, confortable with a lot of facilities. I arrived by night and was completely amazed by the view.

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. It was just perfect. We had a cottage with cooking capabilities and it was great. Everything available what you need. Nakashima san and all staff is very friendly, help if you need help, provide you with information and also have great tips for restaurants. Nakashima san also helped organizing a rental car if you need one. At Morinokokage you can buy drinks and snacks, and there is a free of charge laundry. Thank you Nakashima san. We enjoyed our stay very much and we would stay again at your place if we'd come back to Yakushima.

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko, a property with a garden, is located in Yakushima, 18 km from Yakusugi Land, 26 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, as well as 11 km from Yumiyahachiman Shrine. The minshuku Is near the stop n 60 of the Island bus. The room was a traditional japanese one and the futon was good. The bathroom was the same as other you can find in a normal hotel in Japan. The staff was amazing! The 3 girls who run the Guesthouse was really kindly and they help us to organize the trekking and they also book a table for dinner and prepare me a bento box when i woke up earlier than breakfast time! Really nice!
