Jomon no Yado Manten offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 20 km of Shiratani Unsuikyo and 25 km of Yakusugi Land. The location couldn't be better, it is literally across the street from the airport. Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

Set just 25 km from Yakusugi Land, Tomarigi features accommodation in Yakushima with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as bicycle parking. A very short walk from the airport. Host-San is lovely. She’ll help you figure out what to do on the island and how to get there! Very very friendly and kind. There is a bus, and with help, you can figure out which one to take and at what time. My only suggestion would be if you can rent a car, do so. The bus does visit a lot of locations. But a car would make the experience a lot better. Especially if you only have a day or two

The couple that hosts the pension is sweet and the property is peaceful. Super near the airport. Japanese breakfast was beautifully done. Will stay again.

Great surprise after 5 minutes car driving inside the montain is a very peaceful area. Very nice room, spacious, confortable with a lot of facilities. I arrived by night and was completely amazed by the view.

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. Our host Mr Nakashima was very kind and generous during our stay. He always replied to our messages via bookings.com very quickly, so it was easy to ask any questions and get help whenever we needed. When we had to change our travel dates and book a different room for the last day, he was very understanding and went the extra mile to assist us in transferring our luggage to the new room. Needless to say, the cottages themselves were adorable and lovely! Very clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The best thing is the shoe dryer machine provided in the room. Because it rains so much in Yakushima, that device was invaluable in preparing our footwear for another day of adventure as they would be dry in no time! On the only one clear night we experienced, we were able to see some stars outside the room. The atmosphere is peaceful and you can hear birds chirping in the morning. It rained almost every day we visited, and yet we truly enjoyed our time in Yakushima thanks to the warm welcome from his family & colleagues, and appreciate all the help (especially advising us on the correct port to go for our departure ferry).

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko, a property with a garden, is located in Yakushima, 18 km from Yakusugi Land, 26 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, as well as 11 km from Yumiyahachiman Shrine. Friendly staff. They are all very helpful and excellent communicating with guest. Nice comfortable room, complimentary tea/coffee, and clean facilities. Location near Anbo Ferry terminal. Souvenir shops, grocery store, and restaurants nearby.

Situated in Yakushima, 13 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, SAKURA YAKUSHIMA provides accommodation with a sauna and a hot tub. The accommodation has a sauna. The facilities, sauna, outdoor bath, proximity to a small private beach and kitchen were really lovely.

A 3-minute drive from Ambo Harbour, Yakushima Green Hotel offers Japanese-style and Western rooms with ocean views. I liked the location because it was convenient to three different hiking areas. I had a sea view room which was clean and comfortable. The nightly dinners allowed me to sample many Japanese delicacies. Staff adapted well to my minimal Japanese language skills and were helpful in areas I needed help. There was good parking space for my rental car and it was convenient to a grocery store.
