Everything was lovely and the views from the unit were amazing. Our bedroom was great with a comfortable king bed and great shower/bathroom. Everything was very clean and the hosts were very friendly without being intrusive. We were the only guest so had the common area to ourselves as well and enjoyed the excellent included continental breakfast. Highly recommend The Salty Bushman for your stay in The Catlins.

Coming to Kaka Point for the second time, I didn't hesitate to choose this apartment again. It was still as warm and clean as before. The next morning, I met the landlord and had a brief chat. He was also a gentle and friendly person. It's undoubtedly the top choice for accommodation in Kaka Point.

Apartment had wonderful views, was spacious, and clean. Kitchen utensils were top-notch, knives were sharp which isn’t usually the case! Host was frequently in touch before my stay, and it was very helpful to point out that the only restaurant in town was closed on Sunday, so we could be prepared well before we arrived.

Hospitality and the view from room and garden, absolutely fantastic view, especially sun rise. Jenny welcomed us with big smile that made us feel like we are back to home. They are great couple, highly recommended. I would definitely stay there again.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful with amazing views of the ocean. It was immaculately clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, I wish I could live in this apartment! Also Laura was very helpful when we had to rearrange our booking due to flooding.

Guests staying at Catlins Newhaven Holiday Park are a 5-minute walk from Surat Bay, a long sand beach in Newhaven, where you may be lucky enough to see a Hooker Sea Lion.

It was spacious, had everything we needed in the cabin and on top a big kitchen and bbq to use for everyone. From the park we could see the see lions. There‘s even a coffee shack next door. Just perfect.

The view is fantastic. The ocean is just out the sliding door and across the road. The road is not heavily traveled, so there is no excessive noise. The bed was probably the best one we have had since coming to New Zealand. I also appreciate that the host told us about several things to do in the local area and set us up for a lot of good excursions.

A very charming old fashioned cottage. It's all redone on the inside and outside, while attention was made to preserving historic features. Very private setting with partial view to the ocean. Away from the touristy centre, yet within a walking distance to the restaurants, either along the road next to the shore or via a beach walk. The cottage had everything one would need, cooking facilities, compact cappucino maker, heating, Netflix, outdoor private sitting areas, well maintained garden, even a washing machine. We didn't meet the hosts in person but they were very responsive to our queries and returned the calls immediately. It's wonderful that the owners welcome pet dogs and provide even water/food bowls and dog toys. The holiday home oozes with charm.

Comfortable and relaxing place to stay in the Catlins. Jane was great, providing some basics groceries such as fresh milk, eggs and butter etc. Lovely, quiet location with great walks nearby.
