We spent almost two weeks there. A very interesting place, located by the ocean, in a landscape park, with a beautiful cliff beach, which is a tourist attraction. Its safe. The bungalow next to the restaurant is furnished with all necessary media and furniture, and the views from the bedroom or balcony are sensational. Restaurant at the highest level, well-thought-out menu, always fresh products, delicious food. Very nice and helpful staff, the boss Patrick is an extremely nice person, with interesting ideas and a life mission. In our opinion, this is a place for those who like nature, animals, who love Africa. The view of the ocean, the sound of the waves, the sounds of animals, delicious food and wonderful people - this is the magic of this place. An ideal place for contemplation, meditation and rest. Internet available in the restaurant and bungalows located nearby. We wholeheartedly recommend this place for more than one night.

Everything! The place, the bungalow, the restaurant, the people. It's the perfect place if you look for ecological (no hot water, hairdryer is forbidden) and quite place! It's in my heart!

The lodge is located at the very end of Kizimkazi, in a quite area, surrounded by nature. An ideal place to relax completely It also has a private beach with sunbeds, hammocks and a fireplace. The accommodation itself are all made of coconut leaves and wood, making you feel like you're sleeping in a huts. The owners, Sandrine and David are absolutely lovely and accommodating. So it the staff. Nice food and very complete and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend it here if you want some peace and quite and a good connexion with nature.

My husband and I loved staying in Mama Root at the end of our trip in Tanzania (Kilimanjaro, safari tour, Chumbe Island) and found Mama Root to be one of the highlights of the trip. It was amazing to just relax at the hotel and read in a peaceful environment (and after more than 2 weeks of adventure, it was just what we needed). We ate every meal there and everything was delicious and they helped my husband set up a cute beachside dinner our last evening as a surprise. There are dogs on the property that are friendly and would walk with us on the beach. Overall an amazing experience! Wish we stayed longer and hope to come back again.

*A Peaceful Paradise with Purpose* Palmera Zanzibar is a serene oasis just outside a charming village. I loved the peaceful garden, the spotless infinity pool, and the magical ocean views—especially at sunset. The food was creative, delicious, and all homemade (including fresh breads and cakes!). My room was beautifully decorated, with a comfy bed, sea view, and solar-powered AC—much appreciated in the heat! What makes Palmera truly special is its mission: it’s part of the More Than A Drop Hospitality College, training underprivileged girls for careers in hospitality. The staff and students were incredibly kind, attentive, and made me feel safe and welcome. Highly recommended—for both the experience and the amazing cause behind it.

Beautiful place, relaxed vibe, staff were super friendly. Room right on the waterfront. Loved all the various lounging spaces. Free kayaks to paddle around in. So glad I took a chance on a South coast beach rather than the more popular Northern/Eastern beaches - this place was perfect.

We spent 9 wonderful days in the Mandarin Resort. The staff was super friendly, the food delicious and the beach is a dream. Our children loved playing in the pool and during the low tide we could do beautiful walks in the sand. The water in the ocean is so nice to swim in, clean, warm and blue. We will always remember this perfect vacation and hope we can come back one day. Thank you to all the people working at the Mandarin Resort!

We came here at the very end of our trip for a couple days of relaxation after all the travelling. The location is quiet with not much around it but that didn't matter to us because we were looking to enjoy the resort. The resort in amazing! Absolute paradise. The staff are incredible, everyone is so friendly and kind. The pools are beautiful, the stairways to the ocean are amazing. Beautiful sunsets. The rooms are gorgeous and so clean, the most comfortable bed out of all the hotels we stayed in on our trip to Zanzibar. They have turn down service in the evenings which was so lovely to experience. The entertainment was different every evening and it was brilliant every time. All hotel facilities were amazing also. The food was great for the most part and the drinks were good too. We just want to give a special mention to one of the staff members who took part in the Aqua gym, and the pool volleyball. We think his name was Amos? He was the friendliest, most cheerful young man. We loved chatting to him everyday. He is very young, 17 years old I think, and his English is so good and he's so keen to learn. We were so impressed with him.
