We enjoyed a lovely stay at Funny Monkeys. Linh is exceptionally friendly, a great communicator and fluent in English. The location and river views are excellent. The rooms are spacious and clean.

On arrival, the staff at the property made us very welcome, were helpful with the area and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was very clean and modern, and at the price we paid was a bargain ! We arrived at 3:30am and Diep woke up to let us in to our room which we were grateful for. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Tasty breakfast with a nice view of the river from the table. Diep was very caring when we had a scary incident on the road, making sure we were ok and organising help for us. We were looked after very well during our stay here and would return.

The property has direct access to the river. Ha and his wife were wonderful hosts. Ha fetched us at the airport, took us to Paradise Cave and drove us to Hue. His hospitality, care and attention were exceptional. He went out of his way to assist us when we needed to urgently obtain a new iPhone. He personally drove us to the shop in Dong Hoi and spent over an hour of his time assisting us with translation and resolving our issues.

Very nice homestay with garden to relax and watch sunset next to the river. Free breakfast, cleanrooms and the family is lovely. I got sick while staying here and they even brought me soup. You can hire a motorbike and take a bicycle for free. All the restaurants are 5 minute bicycle ride away

Perfectly located in a quiet and serene area just outside of Phong Nha town. We got the peace and quiet we were yearning for here! You will however need a bike or motorbike to get around. The shipping container rooms are small but beds are ultra comfortable and views are gorgeous. Sound insulation isn’t the best and the place could do with some TLC but we had a lovely stay. The only thing we would have loved was a space to ‘lounge’ in. Some more comfortable chairs and hammocks outside would go a long way! Be sure to take the paddle board out at sunset. The views from the river are sensational. Double your time in Phong Nha if you can - a favourite stop on our travels!
