We had a fabulous stay for our skiing holiday and would highly recommend to stay here. The room was very comfortable and the property is very warm and cosy. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast in the morning was very nice. We also had a brilliant meal in the restaurant too. We hope to return again!

The location of Pension Max is excellent. It is right at the center of Zell am See and in walking distance from most attractions one might like to walk to and even the CityXpress Ski Lift. The pension itself is exceptional value for money, especially with breakfast included (as I booked it). It is very clean, both the common areas and the rooms that are cleaned daily by very polite and clean looking staff. The bathroom in my room was very modern (with shower, not bathtub) and sparkling clean every day. The breakfast / common area is well appointed with everything one could ask for breakfast and the kitchen staff (for the life of me, I cannot remember her name, so sorry, I really should since we had such nice talks together) is an excellent cook and good company. Point of notice is that the kitchen area has a beer tap, a fridge with soft drinks, wines and bottled beer and a plate of biscuits and fruit available 24/7 for anyone who gets the munchies, all one has to do is put his room number down on a piece of paper and write down what they took! It's very nice how we all came out in our pyjamas to have breakfast in a nice and polite atmosphere, I had a room on the ground-floor facing the lake (No7), the view was absolutely enchanting in the morning when the sun first hit the snow-capped peaks across the lake and although it was next to the kitchen area I never heard any noise thanks to the double doors that are virtually sound-proof! One final bonus: By mistake I booked 5 nights instead of 4 in a non-refundable reservation. I wrote to the property some 7 days earlier than my arrival and the proprietor (the superwoman, Katrin Van Looveren) answered me promptly that she would refund me if she managed to get a last minute booking for my extra day. She did and she refunded me that extra day although she was under no obligation to do it, so extra points for being an honorable and gracious host! I will certainly be visiting again.

Breakfast was perfect. Nice variety I was able to have something different everyday. Fresh juices, teas, spreads, etc etc. Hot coffee already waiting for you at the table ☕️ staff were very friendly and the dinner I had was amazing, reasonable portions. Rooms pretty sound proof too :)

We loved this place! I’d say the room looked even better in reality than in the photos. It had everything we needed including a mini fridge and a kettle. The staff was very friendly and would look after our luggage after we checked out and went to do some sightseeing. It’s a very calm location but close to the bus stop that takes you everywhere you need. And the cherry on top is the Summer Card. So it’s a wonderful hotel and great value for money. And who wouldn’t love such a view through the window?

    The location of this traditional pension is perfect. It is localized not so far from the city center, but far enough to maintain absolute “soul refreshing” quietness. Actually the only background noise you will hear is a sound of a wild rivulet flows behind the house. And as always it is all about host and here you have host worth 11 stars out of 10. It was great and lovely stay for me and I hope I will came back.

    The owner was very kind, and the house itself was lovely. It was situated in a great location, offering a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The balcony was a nice addition, providing a pleasant spot to relax. Check-in was straightforward, and the owner was helpful, quickly providing toilet paper when we noticed it was missing. The check-out process was also simple and hassle-free as they told us to just leave the keys on the table and leave.

    First of all the hosts are fantastic people: Beata and Bernd are very charming and hospital! They treat you like their best friend! The location is really ideal especially if you ski. Few steps and you right away enter the cable car pulling you over the top... at the same time very quiet and just a few steps away from the old city center which is also awesome! Breakfast is super, you can have enough and nice variety of local products. Looking forward to come back during summer time!!
