This is a stunning property in an equally stunning location! Beautiful rooms, both very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Wonderful views from the dining room and terraces of the vineyards close by, and the sea beyond. A surprise complimentary wine tasting was also offered on arrival, the wines so wonderful that a couple of boxes were bought to take away! The pool and garden areas were delightful, with lots of seating in sun and shade to while away the time listening to birdsong. Dinner and breakfast were plentiful, tasty and nicely presented. Overall a joyful experience!

The property David and Domingos have created is absolutely remarkable. They spent many months renovating the building and have an evident and justifiable pride in their work. The building is stunning but it is matched by the generous and good-natured hospitality they provide. Our family stayed in the beautifully decorated and comfortable 4-person room. It is ideally suited to a family as one double bed is up on a mezzanine and the bathroom is semi-open plan. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was amazing, both the setting and the food. We enjoyed flaky pastries, bread, cereal, hams and cheeses, fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, wonderful coffee or chocolate and delicious home made jams. The property is reasonably close to the motorway junction in the centre of a small French town where we easily found parking in the adjacent square, but only 10 minutes from Port La Nouvelle on the coast where David recommended and booked his friend’s superb restaurant for us (we hadn’t booked dinner at Les 3 Anges de Sigean but will do so next time). We were told we were the first British visitors to this new maison d’hôte; I’m sure there will be many more as it is an ideal stopover location for those travelling to Spain. I can’t recommend this small boutique hotel enough!

Our stay at the Villa Maskali was delightful. Our hosts Benoit and his lovely mother went above and beyond in welcoming myself and my daughter and making us feel at home. The Villa is beautifully decorated and very clean. Every morning we were served a delicious French breakfast. My daughter’s favorite part were the owner’s pets. Benoit also gave us tips on restaurants and sightseeing. We would definitely stay there again.

The standard of cleanliness throughout was incredible. The lodge we had was thoughtfully and beautifully decorated, the free standing bath really was the icing on the cake.The facilities of the outdoor kitchen and the beautiful pool along with the charming, friendly hosts made our stay exceptional.
