My first view of Foyers Bay Country Guest House was a happy one. Perched on a hill surrounded by gardens and forest, this majestic, old, stone mansion was built in 1896. My beautiful, immaculately-clean room, with its, oh-so-comfortable bed, had a large balcony that overlooked the gardens, forest and Loch Ness. If you like quiet, like you’ve never heard it before, breathtaking forest and beach walks, free-roaming roosters calling each other in the afternoon to wander off into the woods together, red squirrels and pretty songbirds at the feeders, butterflies and bees in the bushes, inquisitive cats coming in and out to stay informed of what you’re up to, and old-style open windows that let in the freshest country air, then Foyers Country Guest House is right for you as it was for me! The pleasant, gracious, hard-working owners, Elly and Chris, kept me well-fed with freshly-prepared-to-order food and pampered with wonderful service, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable … gracious hosts in every way.

Westward B&B was conveniently located near Highland Trekking and Trail Riding, where we went horseback riding. On that route we were able to explore scenic vistas, waterfalls, trails and a cairn. It was also close to Loch Ness. The hosts were friendly and so helpful. We actually saw the host later in Loch Ness at the market and were able to purchase some of her beautiful pottery pieces to take home. The location and rooms were clean and quiet, and the breakfast was amazing! Everyone at the local restaurant was very friendly as well.
