I loved the small cottage right next to the lake and the balcony to relax on. The bed was very comfortable with warm duvet. There was a fan but I didn't need it as the the weather was just nice. I loved the shower's very good water pressure and warm water. Some more there was a warm welcome as soon as I got off the ferry and the helpful staff made me feel welcome throughout my stay right up until I stepped back on the ferry. Loved the breakfast so much! Very tasty, filling and healthy.

Marintan was the most welcoming host. Got there at 9am and was able to check in early at no additional cost. Location is great as the ferry drops you off very close by. All our needs were met with incredible care and attention including when I got stung by a hornet and she provided some lotion and reassurance. The food was also exceptionally good. Can't recommend this place.

We stayed at Bagus bay 4 nights, really great place with lovely staff and “Bacon”, the bartender will help you with anything you want to know : good restaurant in town, good place to hang out, good price to rent a scotter,… and the food was very delicious

By far the greatest accomodation we have ever stayed at. The room was spotless, spacious, and felt much more premium than the wonderfully affordable price it is listed at. Now about our host -- Dimmer is one of the best human beings I have ever met. If kindness was a person, it would be him. From picking us up from the port, to giving us coffee and traditional desserts morning and night, to sharing delicious Durians from his garden with us, to every piece of counsel given about navigating this wonder of an island -- there could not have been a better man to guide us. In all my travels, I have never met someone who has inspired me so much to be kinder and to give love without expectation. Matraville is an experience. If you are reading this, I would give my highest possible recommendation about staying here. More than the comfort and the warmth of the rooms, you will leave here with a renewed sense of faith in the how beautifully kind humans can be. Thank you for everything you and your lovely wife did for us. We remain forever grateful.

Very nice guesthouse with a good restaurant beneath it, make sure to check it out! Rooms are spacious, clean and have a balcony. The son of the owners, Bun, was really nice and helpfull. The day we left he brought us to the port. We will definitely be back when we are in Tuktuk!

Amazing guesthouse, highly recommended to stay here during your stay in Tuktuk The staff is very friendly and helpful, they made our stay here amazing and their dog Lucky is so cute The rooms are well furnished (bed, side table, kettle, laundry rack, cupboard, chair, etc) The balcony is very nice with an amazing view Hot water in the bathroom which is also huge with soap available Water refill available It is quiet at night Note at the moment there is no restaurant but there are so many around so you will find something to eat

Probably the best place to stay on Lake Toba. The property is clean and new and run by a lovely local family who arranged scooters for us. There is a water sport centre just on the lake and we had a great time on the jet skis and banana boat. The ferry drops you directly at the property too! The family room was spacious and great value for money.

Facing the seafront, Romlan is a guest house offering a 3-star accommodation in Tuk Tuk. It has a private beach area, garden and private parking.
