The location is perfect right next to the fishermen’s beach, super nice guesthouse, in a calm yet central area of this cute town. Very good value for money, we spent a week here and we would come again!

The room was extremely clean, and newly decorated. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided, including filtered drinking water, hot shower, WiFi, even a washing machine you can use and space on the roof terrace to hang clothes to dry. The location is a local neighbourhood where you see real Indian Village life on the doorstep, lots of food options closeby, and the beach is less than 5 minutes walking. The owners are super friendly, respond quickly to communication, and go out of their way to help you always with a smile. Thank you so much!

Wonderful experience. Rooms were big and entire first floor was ours. We felt that we were at home, not at any hotel. Landlord and landlady were extremely cordial. Landlady cooked breakfast by herself for us. They have become our family friends. I will never forget this visit.

The rooms are excellent. Spacious and spotless clean. Big bathroom where, for once, the toilet doesn't get wet when you shower. Toilet paper, soap, shampoo and towel supplied. I really liked having a table and chair on the balcony outside my room. This hotel is more airy and open than many others in the area, and that means almost no mosquitoes. Excellent location right across the street from Joe's cafe, a nice old style travellers café with rickety tables, some outside, and all the favourites on the menu. The hotel WiFi reaches here too. A few hurdles to get AC and WiFi working, but they fixed it straight away. (Don't forget to also visit the Tiger cave when you are here. You can get there by local bus or shared rickshaws for 15-20rp.)

I didn’t have breakfast or food at Vinodhara as I met a friend at another hotel and we ate in various other places in Mahabalipuram. The staff were really friendly and helpful and accommodating. There were no issues with booking the taxi at 3am to Chennai airport, everything ran smoothly. My room was basic but I had absolutely everything I needed: a comfy bed, a bathroom with hot water and a shower with good flow and a fan
