Amazing place to stay for a safari tour. We had a half-day safari and could see a lot of animals including elephants, crocodiles, water buffalos, spotted deers, a lot of birds, and others. One of the best days during our trip around Sri Lanka!

I really loved this stay!! The whole family are so kind, the breakfast and dinner were both delicious (and huge portions) and the safari was also great!! You can even sometimes see elephants and buffalo from the balcony of the house. Would definitely return.

We had a great stay, the room was simple but effective. Great working AC and there is very little noise coming from the road at night, perfect to get rest. The major selling point was the extremely welcoming host. He made sure we had lunch as we checked in, personally drove us to the baby elephant sanctuary, always checking in on us to make sure we have everything we need. He arranged our safari and our driver the morning we left. They make breakfest and dinner in house which were deliscious. The team was so kind and always wanted to let them know if you needed anything. Thank you!

We had a truly unforgettable stay, thanks to the breathtaking Mango Safari Camping and the outstanding dedication of the team. We spent one night at the charming and peaceful campsite and were warmly welcomed. We went to the Elephant Transit Home which was an unforgettable moment in our life where many baby elephants are bottle-fed by humans. The actions and demonstrations done by baby elephants were amazing and somewhat similar to human babies, which was funny to see. We were treated to a traditional Sri Lankan dinner by the bonfire – the food was very delicious. In the morning, we enjoyed a jeep safari in the Udawalawe National Park, we could see ample of elephants feeding on grass, deer, water buffalo, and birdlife of the area and the scenery was simply stunning.

Amazing place, location, room and host. The room was very clean and we’ve got everything we needed. The hosts made very good meals for us. Also we did safari with the hotel. This was just perfect we have seen so many animals! Also at night we saw Elephants so close to the hotel.

Do not miss this place. Our stay in John's Safari Villa was on of the best in our Sri Lankan trip. The host is a very nice guy and he organized the safari and it was fantastic. We saw planty of elephants and so many of other animals. We had a really good dinner here local rice and curry that you should not miss. If you plan to come to Udawalawa, this is the perfect place.

Amazing owner, family business with a lot of hapiness and amazing service. Safari they organise is top quality. Would recommend to eat in their restaurant, absolutely great (non spicy) Sri Lankan curries. There is an amazing home spa nearby, organized by locals, in case you arrive in the afternoon and want to relax right away. There is a printed paper in the room with their contact information. I would definitely recommend going as a couple (same time treatments possible).

Simply one of the best place of our stay. There is not enough stars to give for the experience we lived. The cabanas are cute, very functional, clean and the AC works amazing. The value for money is incredible here. The owner will make you feel right at home and will care for you as no one. We enjoyed his company and his ability to talk about anything. To us there was no better host the whole stay. Finally the cherry on top: the safari. 5h at the best price I was quoted. We spent a wonderful morning exploring the park with his uncle. They were able to spot so many animals, we experienced amazing scenes such as elephants drinking or taking mud baths with babies. They drove us to places with no other jeeps and were so attentive of our well being. A HUGE thank you for making this experience truly amazing. Do yourself a favor and book here!!!
