Gurungs Home is named after what it is: a home. We felt very comfortable here. After the first room was too cold for us because we hadn't acclimatized yet, we got a room with heating without any problems. As I got sick the first few days in Kathmandu, we had to stay a few more nights. We were looked after very well and extending our stay was no problem. We also came back for one last night after our trek because we felt so comfortable. Santosh is the heart of the accommodation. Always a smile and a relaxed joke on his lips. The accommodation is 15-20 minutes from the city center. The rooms are clean and the water is super warm. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is always relaxed and family-like.

My stay in this place was excellent. Extremely friendly staff and I got upgraded to a very beautiful room with a private bathroom and amazing view. I loved the shower with hot water and the view from the rooftop. My host was all the time there, smiling and helping me with everything. I really recommend this hotel. It was my best deal between price and quality in Nepal with the best attention.

Lovely hotel, staff so friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and comfy and the breakfasts so good. It was so central to the tourist hub but the hotel itself was more among locals which we liked.

The owner and the staff were incredibly helpful and very welcoming. They were always ready to answer questions and give directions and even recommended a good restaurant and timing for momo. The owner also helped me to book the tourist bus without charging any commission. The room was simple but very clean and well-maintained. I love my short stay here. I will definitely reserve a stay here if I ever visit Kathmandu again.

It’s always a little tricky booking a room on a budget in a new city, but Harsha boutique was extremely good value for money, very clean and modern, and for the dates we wanted to stay, by far the best hotel in Thamel, possibly all of Kathmandu for the price. The room was spacious, comfortable and very tidy, with fresh bedsheets on a super comfortable bed. The bathroom was just as tidy with towels and toiletries included. The staff were always very friendly, accommodating and informative and polite. The laundry service was good value and very efficient, returning our laundry on the same day both times. We stayed at Harsha boutique twice during our visit to Nepal and when we return we will be booking there again if they have availability.
