The service was incredible. The owner and staff were amazingly friendly and attentive. They would help you with your heavy luggage, calling a taxi and other personal issues. The hotel has a very nice and quiet garden with such a serene feel to it. Good food. Nice coffee. The location is perfectly close to Durbar square. The beds were comfy. Overall a really good hotel with amazing service. A true gem!

Suits a long stay and as such we stayed much longer than our initial booking. Spacious layout with comforty double bed, work desk and cupboards corner, also kitchenette, and ensuite, plus a sofa and coffee table area. Lots of light from windows (with some sun around noon). Heater and electric blanket in winter. Great- pressure on hot shower. Close to center, but located in a quiet side lane. Helpful owner.

Very convenient location to get to all the sights without being in the crowded quarters. Rana, who is officially the security guard but I think he is much more and adds a lot to the good atmosphere in and around the hotel. He cares a lot about the guests and is the best friend of the hotel dog. The staff and manager are really kind people as well. Plus I liked the breakfast: cereal, bread, cheese, vegetables and fruits at the buffet plus more. Room was spacious, water hot. Instead of 3 I stayed 5 nights.

I’ve never met more warm and hospitable hoteliers before. I loved the room/whole place so much, it is so charming and quaint with the traditional Newari architecture… that’s a huge treat by itself to experience a part of authentic Nepali culture and history in this 300 year old building… also I can’t forget the hot shower + Huge comfy mattress! And just having tea in the courtyard… but above all I enjoyed my conversations with Yelos the most. He is so knowledgable about Nepal’s cultural, art and spiritual history… I felt like I got 10 free guided tours without leaving the guest house. And yes it very much encapsulates the feeling of a guest house rather than a cold, corporate style hotel where there is no warmth and personal involvement. I highly recommend Hira Guest House. They helped me with so many things and saw that each guest got the same amazing service and treatment, it was so delightful to stay and I can’t wait to come back again.
