I recently stayed alone at “Mila Homestay.” From the moment I arrived, I experienced the extraordinary hospitality of the homestay's owner and manager, Dila and her husband, Michel. I arrived rather late that day, because my flight from Jakarta was delayed. I was immediately offered a complimentary dinner with martabak, which of course I gladly accepted. The room I stayed in was not very large, but comfortable with good air conditioning, stable and strong wifi, and a bathroom with hot water. Mila Homestay is located a bit on the outskirts of Padang, but that didn't matter because it was actually enjoyable to take a morning walk in the rice fields and local villages behind the homestay. I will definitely stay at Mila Homestay again if next time I go to Padang!

The owner was very friendly and helpful with organising transportation and our trip to Siberut to stay with the Mentawai Tribe (highly recommend this, if you're looking for an adventure off the beaten track). Everything looked exactly like in the pictures, the view is fantastic and the location just outside Padang means you can reach everything within 10-15 minutes by car/motorbike, but it's still quiet and a good place to relax and plan your trip. The food prepared by the owner tastes fantastic and is reasonably priced. All in all, we felt very well looked after and would definitely visit again.

I just got back from a 2 night , 3 day trip that I booked with Jhony. I found the trip to be a fantastic experience! We were lucky enough to see 14 Orangutans in the wild , including a large male and a couple of mothers with their babies. Also various other big troops of monkeys, monitor lizards and many varieties of birds. I have not seen so much wildlife in one place during many previous treks over the world 😍 Jhony is a great guide and is very passionate about the conservation of the jungle.His assistant, the young Lana also really looked after us and will make a great guide in the future, for sure. We were provided with all the food we could eat which was local and delicious, and to stay in the jungle at two different camps with all of the wildlife surrounding was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended

At the guest house, every unit is equipped with bed linen and towels. Alek the owner is an amazing host, he really takes care of you. The jungle 2 day jungle trek he arranged was amazing too. The accommodation in right in the middle of the town and close to everything. The rooms are good and the bed is super comfy. All in all, I had an amazing stay here.

Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. They also helped us arrange the most incredible trek in the jungle. A very unique stay. All of the staff was attentive, the cook was very sweet and made great meals, and everyone really paid attention to our needs and safety during the trek.

Guests can make use of the picnic area or the barbecue, or enjoy views of the lake and river. I did the 2 day/1 night Trek. The 2 guides Rian and Santa were the best guides I’ve encountered anywhere in all my years of traveling. They were so kind, funny and thoughtful. The food on the trek was phenomenal and it really was a wonderful experience. The property is great, with a beautiful lush green garden.

It's approximately a 15-minute walk to town (30 minutes from the car drop-off point). Our room featured a balcony and a hammock, providing a delightful spot for relaxation for all of us.

Featuring quiet street views, Batu Kapal Guest House & Jungle trekking in Bukit Lawang offers accommodation, a garden, a terrace and a bar. The property has mountain and garden views. The guest house features river views, an outdoor fireplace and a 24-hour front desk. Staff is amazing, food is great and also the location which is deeper in the jungle. Only accessible by motorbike, but the staff is super flexible and take you up and down to the town whenever you want (not needed and not expected but we tipped them a bit every time). We saw so many orangutans with them! Even when taking the trip to the batcave, but I think we were lucky. Would definitely recommend Batu Kapal!
