Maria, the owner of the house is a very friendly person, who is experienced in running the guesthouse and makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. She offered us breakfast, although we didn´t even book it, which was really forthcoming! And, she even gave our 4-year old daughter a gift to play with and provided her grandchildren´s dollhouse, which our daughter loved a lot. Her daughter Nieve, who covered for Maria, when she wasn´t there, was really lovely too. They are all used to having people in their lovely house with beautiful garden views. The house is located in a nice and safe neighbourhood, about 10-15 minutes walk from the city center. It is about 5 minutes walk from the town park, where you find quite and green as well as a very nice playground for kids. Our room (2) was very nice and there is a variety of tea and coffee provided in the room! The bathroom is modern and very clean with a really great shower. Beds are comfy. We could store food/drinks that needed cooling in their family fridge. A nice surprise is the house´s dog buddy, who is super cute and friendly to everyone and good with kids.

At the bed and breakfast, units are fitted with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. Some units have a terrace and/or a balcony with lake or river views. The units are equipped with heating facilities. Amazing ,beautiful,clean and lovely place next to a pub with great dishes. The house was a perfect place to have a stop during our tour of irland. Darren is an amazing and truly gentle host. We had a tasty Irish breakfast homemade prepared. If you find it still available don’t esitate to book it!

Both bathroom and bedroom were very spacious, clean and comfortable. We book it last minute and finding such a big and soft bed was fantastic for a good rest! We had an Irish breakfast in the morning freshly made by the host, it was delicious! The host is super kind and welcoming, she made us feel really good here and we cannot recommend Madison House enough. Hopefully we will stay again here in the future!

Breakfast was tasty, Maura was very friendly and recommended some places in the town for dinner. The room was very spacious and clean. It was also nice and warm, which is important for me as I’m always cold! Location was brilliant. Doggo is also very cute!

The Stables Townhouse B&B, is located on the famous Georgian streetscape of Oxmantown Mall, in the heart of Birr and directly opposite Birr Theatre & Arts Centre.

Free Wi-Fi is provided in each guest room at The Stables, as well as a queen-size bed, en suite bathroom with luxury toiletries and an LED flat-screen TV. A hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities are also provided. We had a little mix up over the night of the booking and the place was full . However I have to say the staff moved mountains and found us a room nearby in Banagher . I was travelling with friends from Italy and this Irish way of sorting out a problem was really impressive .
