This guest house is non-smoking and soundproof. Excellent location, Well maintained. After a hectic day out this property is a perfect place to unwind. I would also recommend people who are interested in the aurora borealis this place offers the perfect location, You have to just stand in your backyard when there are clear skies you get lucky to spot them. The kitchen was well equipped, A common dining and living area with plenty of board games and not to forget the wonderful acoustic guitar. The 1-bedroom Varmi Guesthouse Apartments & rooms all have a seating area with a sofa bed and TV. Each has a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries. Nice quiet place in Hveragerdi, an apartment with all you need. The hosts live there so they were nice to us when we arrived a bit later in the evening. They even asks us if we wanted to use the hot tub outside or have anything to wash. The rooms look exactly as in the picture, the heating was ok, the kitchen was fully equipped if you wanted to eat in, the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom had a lot of towels for the two of us. 10/10.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))
