A big pool and lovely private chalets, right on the river which you can kayak down. Its fabulous! You're surrounded by jungle, and the food for amazing. Really loved it. The staff were friendly and sweet and we couldn't have asked for better during our last few days in Sri Lanka. This is expensive for Sri Lanka but its definitely worth it.

At the guest house, the units are equipped with bed linen and towels. Really cool tree house rooms on the peninsula. The host and cook is amazing and he makes delicious meals. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom is partially open air which was really cool. The hammocks and tables made it a peaceful haven. The pool was still being made when I went but it will be a really nice addition. I highly recommend this place.

The staff were friendly and keen to help. The accommodation is quirky, fairly basic but comfortable. The food was excellent and plentiful. There are a number of activities and excursions available, or you can simply relax on your veranda up in the trees. There are a number of chill out zones.

Quiet place surrounded by lush greenery, with few rooms only and with beautiful view of the lagoon. Staff are very nice and helpful, food is amazing. Take a dinner with them, no many options in town!

We booked The Sanctuary half an hour before arriving and we were warmly greeted at the door by the owner Siraj. Siraj's passion for environmental protection is incredible. His knowledge of the ecology of the area is huge. Siraj and his team provided us with first class hospitality, beautiful food and a fully organized safari we will never forget (for a very competitive price). Extras like plentiful home grown bananas, a night tour of the grounds (seeing flying foxes and mouse deer) and free photos of what we saw on safari were the icing on the cake. It was a privilege to have stayed at The Sanctuary and we left enriched. I would not hesitate to return here in future.

Even better than the photos and super friendly people treat you just like family. Such a clan and nicely decorated place and super comfortable beds, comforter and fluffy pillows on a soft bed. just what we needed! Also about as close as you can get to the rickshaw run start line so was a super location for us. No hot water but we didn’t even miss it.
