The host Natsuhara-san really went above and beyond for me, he is very kind. The cleaning ladies who come in the morning are also very kind and we did our best to communicate through the language barrier. Overall I had a great time! It's very close to Hikone Castle and in the historical town area so it's easy to see the attractions.

The place for us has been the most genuine experience we had during our trip and made us feel we were really in Japan this time. It’s an authentic place, so it doesn’t have all the mod cons that some travellers might expect, but we were thrilled with the enormous room, the lovely onsen, and the whole feel of the place. The owner was very accommodating and helpful in all respects and also prepared us some great breakfasts and dinners. A very memorable stay in a town that’s definitely off the beaten track but has a lot to offer.

The host was lovely and met us there earlier than check in to explain everything. There was a hand drawn map with intricate details on where to go, what they did and opening hours. The house was old but modern. The little bakery next door.
