There was a nice assortment of pillows and a tea/coffee making station; we had fresh, soft towels, a TV, hairdryer, and everything we could need for a good stay. We can't speak highly enough about the host: she is delightful and attentive to her guests, and she truly enjoys guaranteeing a good stay. The breakfast was awesome: fruit, proteins, breads, tea and coffee -- everything you need to keep you going for a day of traveling. We will stay again, and you should, too!

Located in the heart of the beautiful Westport Quay, Ireland, The Helm is adjacent to Westport House and overlooks the idyllic Westport Harbour. It offers a restaurant and bar with live entertainment.

All modern and spacious apartments have separate living rooms and kitchens. Each also offers a washing machine and free Wi-Fi. We informed the management of the estimated time of our arrival and told them we would get a taxi straight to the facility. When we arrived at the Westport train station we were met by a member of the management in a mini bus. Lovely surprise. When my husband and friend arrived much later that evening the kitchen was closed but they cheerfully reopened it and fed them with a fabulous plate of fresh fish and chips. The food was absolutely delicious and very plentiful. The owners and staff were wonderful, very warm and friendly. The apartment was very pleasant and comfortable. I cannot speak highly enough of the people of this warm and welcoming place. I hope to return there someday and very highly recommend it to people looking for a lovely vacation experience. Full kitchen in case you need a break from dining out and want to cook a meal. Plenty of hot water and a good shower in bathroom. Clean. Attentive and communicative host. Apartment located on second and third floors of building, so possibly not suitable for persons with mobility challenges, but perfect for all others.

Incredible location, Emmet was super friendly, welcoming and suggested a lot of brilliant things we could do during our stay in Westport. I can’t imagine you’ll find a better breakfast spread in any B&B in Ireland! The choices provided by Rachel were simply superb, with some differences on both days of our stay… a lovely touch. We have no hesitation in recommending Salmon Weir Lodge for your stay whilst visiting Cong and the surrounding area.
