On our return to the room from a wedding near by (on a cold February night) Margaret had added a much appreciated touch, an electric blanket being turned on. Each accommodation at the 3-star bed and breakfast has quiet street views, and guests can enjoy access to a garden and to a shared lounge. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. Doris and Kevin were the perfect hosts, beautiful home and the breakfast was fabulous, great nights sleep. Rooms bigger than you would expect and to be woken by birdsong was an added extra. The local pubs were about a mile or so down the road with a harbour if you fancy a walk.Athlone town only 10 minutes away if you fancy a more lively night out taxis available. All in all a great find and most definitely would recommend and hope to revisit in the near future.

Free private parking is available and the bed and breakfast also features bike hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. Breakfast was wonderful. Lots of choices of fruit, cereals, eggs ( scrambled, fried, over easy), ham/bacon and sausage. Also liked that there was yogurt. Could also have a full Irish breakfast. It was all great. Helen is a great host and provided great suggestions about where to eat and places to visit. And the B&B is next to the National Park. We’d go back again without hesitation. Plenty of parking and our room was spacious and very comfortable.

The unit is soundproofed and is comprised of a parquet floors as well as a fireplace. The property has an outdoor dining area. The house is amazing. Probably best one we have rented out of 40 houses over the last 20 years in various countries. Well equipped. Hosts could not have been nicer or more helpful. The local village is fine and has everything you need. No reason to leave the house though. We were three generations staying in the house and everyone was happy (amazing!).

We were lucky to spend our weekend with friends in this beautiful place. Everything was very clean and cozy ,we felt at home from the first moment. We had a wonderful time, especially enjoying the BBQ on the veranda and the stunning view of the lake, which is also very close by. It’s so peaceful and calming, right on the lake. Micheal the owner checked on us now and then as we were 5 females aged 16-65 on our own we really appreciated that !Lovely kind man! It was large, clean and really well equiped. We were met by Hazel , she was so sweet and had the cottage heated and welcoming, even a nice welcome cake.
