Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! We stayed at a separate room which is not inside the main building. The room was spacious and had a private shower and bathroom. The main building of the guest house is very cosy and welcoming and the free dinner and breakfast are a great bonus. The washing machine and dryer were very fast and efficient.

Would highly recommend! (And they’ll pick you up at the port)

If you want to explore the island more after the check-out you could store your luggage and take a shuttle later that day. Clean and neat. Welcoming staff, most of them have good English. Nice colourful yukatas to select from and a hanten. Tasty traditional breakfast with an instruction on how to eat it. Comfortable bed in a classic room.

Situated within 30 km of Saikokuji Temple and 31 km of Senkoji Temple, Bed&Cafe Onzo オンゾー features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Onomichi. With free private parking, the property is 24 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine and 27 km from Saikon-ji Temple. Shinsho-ji Temple is 38 km away and Miroku no Sato is 39 km from the guest house. We booked two rooms for our family of four. We were pleasantly surprised how spacious they were, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The host was incredibly kind, he suggested the best places to eat and buy locally produced lemon pastries, and when we were leaving, he brought his cat, Tiger, and waved goodbye to us. As we were on a three-day bike trip and only had our small backpacks with us, we loved the fact that everything was provided: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, etc. In each room there were even a couple of bottles of water and everything for making tea and coffee. In the common spaces there was a microwave, guidebooks, manga books, and a wall full of Toso Maps of the Shimanami Kaido trail. We will definitely book Bed&Cafe Onzo again next time we bike the Shimanami Kaido!

This villa features air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace. The property is non-smoking and is situated 35 km from Kuruson-zan Shuzen-ji Temple. Private, great views, nice rural feeling. This is an exceptional property for relaxing. We stayed 2 nights and had a great time.

He picked us up from the port and even picked us up from another port in the night time (we survived from the most adventurous journey - thankful to Koji!). Talk about the place: the guesthouse is cozy and warm. The shared facilities included kitchen and washing machine. The price of ramen and washing pods are the same price in the convenience store and may be cheaper. E-bikes are also provided with the cheap rate (1000 yen/day).

Jock is a wonderful host, very giving with his time and tips. Made us takoyaki, which was yum!!! Parents found the chairs a bit hard (used to a sofa :) ), but it was fine. Location was fine, ten mins to at least 2 supermarkets and maybe 15 mins to main train station - easy to walk.

Our best stay in Japan. Most traditional place I have been. Super super fliendly staff. Easy to get inside and able to order UberEats and eat in the hotel room. Very clean en a lot of natural light.
