There is the offer to join local fishermen in the morning to experience the local fishery tradition. I can highly recommend to stay a few nights on this remote island (alone the boattrip to the island is an adventure on its own) if you are a nature lover and keen to meet other travelers:)

Highly recommend staying here and I will definitely visit Jaffna again and stay at Tony's!

The biggest highlight of this place was our wonderful hosts. The host family could not have been more gracious. We happened to be in Jaffna for the new year, and they took us under their wing, sharing their traditions (including treats, dressing, a visit to the temple and fireworks at night). Their sweet kids played with our kids and, all in all, they made us feel completely at home in this beautiful city. We're very grateful for their generosity and hospitality and would absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

There is no heated water, but there is a built in "fountain" in the wall, which added to the old-timey feeling.
