Gorgeous hostel, very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Had everything we needed. Cute little guest garden where we sat and listened to a concert being hosted next door. Great community. Made me want to move in! I was really sad I only booked one night. Lots of interesting things to do around the place, amazing local trails, restaurants and a local museum. Highly recommend a visit to Cumberland and this hostel, it was one of my trip highlights.

We had an excellent stay at the Velvet Fern. The home was beautiful and fully stocked. Our baby was comfortable and we were in a great location to explore Courtenay. I'd highly recommend it to anyone hoping to visit.

Everything starting from the time when Verra welcomed me till my check out when she woke up early around 4.30 Am in the morning just to make sure to drop me at the airport on time. Very nice separate room with Terrace and bath. Almost like a one room apartment. It has a TV and various utilities, Tee Coffee. Very helpful and nice hosts. It's great f you need a ride to the airport.

Amazing house! Perhaps the most beautifull dining room with open kitchen I have ever seen. The large window provides a wide view over the mountain. The place was very clean. The kitchen is extremy well equipped. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, with a bath next to the window looking over the mountain. The beds were very comfortable. We regretd no staying longer.
