This place is made by its people. The manager Leonardo is the soul of this small hotel. Maybe it’s not much fancy and chic but it’s really nice and clear. You have breakfast at the terrace together with colourful birds and squirrels who are having their breakfast. There’s a small but well cared pool. And don’t forget about frog tour with Leonardo.

We really enjoyed our stay at Arenal Descanso. The family hosting us was very nice and helpful and the breakfast was great. Especially, the Gallo pinto :) we loved to sit in the pretty garden watching the birds for the breakfast. Closeby are many restaurants and a river where you can swing into the water using a rope. It's fun!

The place was lovely! Among all the hotels we stayed in during the trip, this is the first place we arrived and felt at home. The room is clean and equipped with everything you need. Best place we stayed in Costa Rica. Full of space and the owners are very kind. Everything was very easy with them, and they even helped us with our laundry. We stayed there to drive to the volcano and Rio Celeste.

The hotel was lovely. Our room was stand-alone, with a private terrace and jacuzzi. Everything was very clean, and the reception and restaurant staff friendly and helpful. We frequently walked to the centre which took about 20 minutes.

Alot of attention to detail for what was needed and extras. Loved having a washing machine and line outdoors to hang your clothes. But there was also many other extras that were great!!
