Cheap hotels in Achada do Burro

Omar and his lovely parents, Lola and Jamil, were the best hosts. By the end of our second stay we felt like family, sharing food, drinks, and stories. Lola and Jamil will look out for you and give you all the tips you need to enjoy Bissau and the rest of the country. The place itself is peaceful, welcoming, and super simple to get to and from town in a shared taxi. Bars and restaurants, cashpoint and great supermarkets all local, plus a nice market. We'll be back! Worth adding that one of us came back from the Bijagos Islands quite sick, and Lola and Jamil could not have been more caring and diligent, providing medicine, lifts to hospital and the doctors, food, support - just super hosting. Thank you very much for a stay we will not forget!

Wonderful house with a lovely garden and a brilliant host.

I'm very happy we found this hotel because it is great value for Bissau standards, but our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was also very nice. It is located in a very residential unpaved street, but a stone's throw from the Império monument in the center of town, so walking to Bissau Velho is easily doable. Staff were lovely and helpful, communication was not an issue although we do not speak Portuguese or Krioulo. If I ever return to Bissau I'd definitely return!
