Very lovely place to stay at! Everything was spotless (so the shared bathroom wasn‘t a problem at all). The kitchen was well equipped and really big so multiple people could cook at the same time. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, we would have definitely stayed longer if we could. Their ice cream is delicious too!

Check in/out was very quick and easy, with codes, no personnel. Washbasin within the room is so comfortable. The common kitchen area is really huge and equipped.

Room was massive with nice furniture too. View of the lake craters was amazing and the sun streaming through the window in the morning gave a false sense of how warm it was compared to the freezing day outside. Breakfast offered dozens of options and the restaurant had a dozen options too.

Quietly located 5 km from Iceland's Ring Road and 13 km from Lake Mývatn, this family-run guest house offers views over Sandfell Mountain.

I really liked the retro look. The remote location, red carpets and doors reminded me of the movie "The Shining", but in a good way :) On a more serious note, the room and bathroom were very clean, as was the bedding. Great breakfast, staff polite and helpful.
