Very kind staff! They were very helpful with late check ins (we were Much later than expected), they even put cute hearts on my envelope which after a long tiring day was a very nice, cute surprise that brought a smile to my face! The rooms are very clean and there's a hot tub in the back that we would have loved to use if we didn't immediately pass out on the super comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious with lots of fresh options (we almost missed it but again the kind staff let us know breakfast was almost finished so we ran down and they even kept things out longer for us). Thank you to the staff for making our stay so delightful!!

That was one of the few Icelandic accomodations that allowed us to meet its owners, Icelandic people. Amazing! Having travelling in Iceland several times some 8-20 years ago, we have observed that Icelanders are getting extinct from the tourists eyesight! Nowadays immigrants are serving tourists, thus making locals so much invisible that it even feels like being a milking cow (all is getting more and more expensive, and Icelanders are getting advanced transactions without any need to physically show up). Luckily there is Loa's Nest and some other few accommodations' owners who do find time to show their interest in people who are visiting them. A human contact is much more precious than just a cold standard welcome letter left on the entrance table with written instructions where to find a key to your room. The owners of the Loa's Nest not only were present during morning hours but also offered guests free coffee and freshly baked waffles. I loved their presence and short stories on their island, plus, suggestions on what to visit nearby. The location was great, surrounded by many birds, however, no luck to see there the 'Loa' itself, or the European golden plower.

We loved everything about our stay at Midgard. If we come back this way I will book at least a two night stay in the same family room. The place is exceptionally well kept, the staff is helpful and friendly, the breakfast is better than most and the restaurant dishes we tried were absolutely delicious. I will book a two night stay so I can enjoy the sauna, the hot tub and sample other dishes from the menu :). The location is perfect for exploring the Golden Circle and a few other attractions in the south of Iceland.

The location is great for those looking to get away from the hustle bustle of cities and the speed of life. It’s an absolutely stunning setting. The cabin itself was beautiful, warm and cosy. Well thought through overall! And there’s horses right there to get up and close with, what more can you ask for?

Nice, but a bit basic rooms. Fine breakfast. Decent food in the restaurant. A very calm and quiet location, a bit off the beaten track.
