Everything - easy to find with clear signage, the hosts were lovely people, comfy beds, the room was spacious and extremely clean, shower had very good water pressure and was warm. Its about 15 min from Selfoss so really close to amenities but secluded at the same time. There is a fridge in the room for your own food, kettle and tea and a welcome biscuit. Easy parking just out front. We came a bit late around 10pm so didn't see the full kitchen but in the common corridor for the 2 guest rooms, there is a microwave and plates and cutlery for use probably because of those late check ins and snacks. So thoughtful!

The set up was beautiful with a really high attention to detail. The showers were the highest quality, nothing like campsite facilities. The shared areas were stunning. The tent was warm and cosy and everything you could wish for was provided. The kitchen has full cooking facilities: 2 ovens, 2 hot plates, microwave, fridge and all pots and pans.

Accommodation was great! Owners were very nice and helpful, rooms were clean and quiet, breakfast was a great start for the day and location was just perfect for day trips. Closest city Selfoss (9 km) were very good for dining, to buy food and other shopping. 👍😊

Staying at Askot Cottage for our first two days in Iceland was probably one of the best decisions we made during this trip. It made the first impression of this majestic country even better. The attention to detail in these cottages is unparalleled. The kitchen is immaculately equipped with everything you need to cook, eat, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Second, the bed and linen were unreal. We felt like we were sleeping on clouds. Clean, cozy, comfortable, spacious... just unique. When we woke up the following day, we enjoyed a slow and calm breakfast while watching beautiful horses through the giant window. The bathroom was also well equipped with everything you need - soap, shampoo, shower gel, enough toiletries, and towels. Everything was so warm, cozy, and compact - I honestly can't recall when was the last time we were taken care of so well. The check-in and check-out process was simple and smooth. We picked up and left our keys in a small lock box next to the door. Greta was also kind and notified us about leaving a cable when we left, so we returned and retrieved it without any issue. They also provided us with a Bluetooth speaker. We used to listen to Icelandic folk music—it was like a fairytale! The only downside was that we couldn't stay here longer. It was also a great location to visit nearby attractions, such as Kerid Crater, Bruarfoss, Faxafoss, Urridafoss, the cute town of Selfoss, and more. It's a fantastic place. Greta and Steiner did an excellent job. As experienced travelers, we cannot recommend this place enough. I'm looking forward to staying here again sometime. Best of luck!

    Great location, very clean, excellent social area, inside was hotter than we ever imagined, great bathroom. Stayed in three different hotels during our trip to Iceland. This was the fist also cheapest. It set the bar really high. Oh yeah and it was really quiet as well.

    The place was in a remote location, easy to get to from the main road. It was perfect because we had no light pollution around us and we saw the northern lights very easily. No need to drive to another location. The room was very clean and tidy, we enjoyed everything about it. I would definitely stay here again!

    Shared bathroom spotless clean, aired and large. I confess i was a bit skeptical when my wife said the room had no private bathroom... but was positively surprised Isolation/silence We were not lucky to see the nordern lights, but this is a perfect location if the nature helps

    Very lucky we saw the northern lights right outside and they were amazing. Location was great for them as there is very little light pollution. Staff was friendly. We booked for a basic room with shared bathroom facilities as we were staying for just one night. Everything was very clean and super warm. Slippers were provided to keep the place clean. It is a small hotel with guestrooms a short walk from the main block.

    Very affordable and comfortable stay. If the weather had been better, we would've enjoyed the location more but we really enjoyed staying here. We really liked the comfy bed and the big window with a view towards the fields. We'd stay here again!
