The private, unobstructed view of the Torii gate itself is worth booking this place for. But on top of that, it’s a spacious, beautiful traditional Japanese house. Easily the most beautiful stay of the trip. There’s a great ramen place and konbini (convenience) store just a few mins walk down the road. A beautiful property, traditional style cedar floor and walls, very comfortable and relaxing space. Eco conscious ownership with a great compostable toilet system, which was very hygienic. Absolutely beautiful house in a picturesque valley. Views from the room are phenomenal. The house itself is a work of art. 300 year old Sakura tree right outside. Staff are wonderful and friendly. You feel right at home as the atmosphere is like staying at friends. Incredibly comfortable room.
