First of all let me preface this with following information: This is the owners house. He lives on the second floor. Now when this is out of the way I cannot reccomend this enough. This is a really good lodging for its money and the owner is super nice. He picked us up at the station and even drove us to local hot springs and restaurants. He also took us close to Mt. Fuji (that costed around 5000 yen for gas) and we visited a hot spring from which we gazed at Mt. Fuji. Owner knows a bit of English and was super accommodating. Though it will help a lot if you know at least a little japanese.

I had the chance to stay at Tokiwa Hotel in Kofu, and it was an absolutely perfect experience from start to finish. First of all, the spotless cleanliness and the spaciousness of the rooms immediately impressed me. From mine, I had the chance of admiring the majestic Mount Fuji, a breathtaking view that made the stay truly special. The service provided by the staff, both day and night, was simply outstanding, I have only experienced that in Palaces. Always present, smiling, and attentive, they anticipate every need with efficiency and kindness. Their warmth and genuine joy create a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The facilities are also of the highest standard: the men’s and women’s onsen are immaculate and deeply relaxing, while the hotel’s amenities reflect great attention to detail. The Japanese breakfast was an absolute delight, refined, generous, and the perfect way to start the day. On top of that, the restaurant recommendations given by the team were excellent. In short, everything was simply perfect. My stay at Tokiwa will remain unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The place was a perfect little traditional hotel which exceeded our expectation. Although in a lively city it was a quiet place to rest and to enjoy the comfort of a traditional hotel. This will be my place to be when in Kofu.

    What an experience when roadtripping around Mt. Fuji. We did a last minute booking and our host waited us for our check in. He was soo nice and welcoming, upgraded us to a bigger room for the night and gave us recommendations around the area. The house and the garden are stunning, futons are comfy, location is convenient and close to city/onsen/attractions.

    Off the beaten track a little bit, but a wonderfully quiet location within easy walking of the train station. Some good walking paths over the river leading to various shrines and temples. Loved the owl statues around the house and garden - very cute.

    The owner was really accommodating and was going above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay! His place was very clean and spacious. The distance of his place was about a 15 min walk to the station but picked us up personally from the station and also willing to send us to the station with our big bags when we asked.

    Amazing house and a very helpful host! We were coming a bit late still he offered a transfer from the station to the place and then drove us to a local restaurant. We could also use barbecue (if you want to use it, ask the host in advance, and it also costs additional charge). Location is great and the house fits perfect for a short stay. Would definitely come again. Thank you for the great experience!
