It was such an amazing, unique experience. The monks are most welcoming and accommodating. Ryokan style rooms with futons, which can be a bit hard, as expected (part of the experience). The place looks incredible, still attains so much history and ancient culture within its walls. It was incredible to be a part of that for a bit and attending the ceremonies was the highlight of our stay.

Best place to stay in Koyosan. The staff was amazing, very friendly. The room has plenty of space. The place is near everything, the town is small so you can walk everywhere. Also they helped us reserve the night tour at the cementery and the meditation at Ekoin. I will definitely come back. ✨.

This was the most outstanding place we stayed at in Japan. The owner met us at the train station at the beginning of our 2 night stay and took care of us the entire time. He drove us to restaurants, supermarkets. The next day he picked us up and took us on a tour of all the shrines on the nearby mountain. Perfect place for a couple who want to spend a few days in the surrounding of the kumano kodo. The host was very kind and very responsive.

The traditional breakfast was awesome with local products and super tasty. The two showers were a nice touch. The bed was comfortable (especially super comfy comforter). The view was great. We came by car so I don't know about access otherwise.

FANTASTIC PLACE! The owners are such a wonderful, helpful young couple who were communicative and kind, and you really do feel like you get so much space and value for money! They even offered to keep our luggage while we went stayed the night in Koyasan. Could not recommend more highly. (We particularly loved the projector!)
