We loved our stay in Kendwa Carletto Style. The bungalow was clean and spacious with a nice patio for relaxing with a book. The staff are really helpful and added little details to make our stay extra special. It was nice to get a feel for the locality on the short walk to the beach. At low tide you can walk over and back between Kendwa and Nungwi. If the tide comes in you can take a short taxi ride or water taxi. There is a really nice Italian restaurant with delicious cocktails on Nungwi beach. Can't remember the name but it's up some wooden steps, right beside the Mama Mia ice cream parlour(not the one at Kendwa Rocks)

Had a very welcoming staff at the reception everthing went smooth from the moment i arrived .. my luggage's were taken to my room and was given a short tour of my room . The next morning i had requested breakfast at 6:30am was delivered on time. The staff has smiling faces throughout i will surely book with them again..

Location: Excellent beach location. Few things to do or see in Kendwa village but this didn’t bother us. Room: Spacious room for a family of 3 and spacious bad. No wardrobe but this seems to be the standard for many hotels on the island. Excellent cleaning services and extremely friendly, polite and professional staff. Reception: Excellent service. They helped us order several trips and everything was excellent. Restaurant. We paid for half board: Breakfast: Almost the same choices each day. A bit boring but Ok, with freshly baked items each day, pancakes, omelets and fruit plates.The service is without doubt good. We had to pay 2$ pr. breakfast box that doesn’t include any drinks. Food and drinks during the day: Prices are in USD and are almost the same as in other similar places. We were happy with the service. Dinner: Menu with different choices every evening. The food is tasty and the portions are big. Good and quick service. Colleagues who stayed in the neighboring The Rock came to eat lunch and dinner in The Sunset hotel restaurant because they liked better both the food and the service. When we moved to Tembo Hotel in Zanzibar city we also got something to compare with and already miss the food from The Sunset. Overall a great hotel, with beautiful gardens, spacious rooms and great people. They need only to work out a good concept for any dinner events to avoid dissatisfaction among customers who have paid for half board.

I recently stayed at Lala Salama Kendwa for 4 nights and had an incredible experience. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from the stunning Kendwa beach. The rooms were clean, modern, and very comfortable, offering a great balance of style and functionality. It was both AC and fan in the room. What truly stood out, though, was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. A special mention to the manager, who went above and beyond to ensure an extra night of stay during New Years celebration. If you’re looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Kendwa, I highly recommend Lala Salama Kendwa. Can’t wait to return!

Everything- The place is close to the beach and very nice restaurants. It is situated in a quiet area away from all the noise and crowds. The ammenities are basic and it is not a luxury hotel that you find on the beach. Cool and Calm hotel is smaller and more personal. It's clean and the bed was the comfiest bed that we found in Zanzibar. There is a laundry service and free secure parking inside the hotel complex. Breakfast is included in the room price and it is delicious and filling. They have a menu for lunch and dinner as well. We had the chicken masala and chicken salad. Wowww!! Lastly, i want to commend Cool and Calm hotel for their service. From the moment we walked in, we just felt so welcome. Ali and his collegue treated us like friends. It was a great place to end our honeymoon. Thank you so much. If you are looking for great value for money, outstanding service, great food and a good night's rest, go stay at Cool and Calm hotel.

    We loved everything! It was in a perfect location for us, close to shops and the beach. The breakfast was amazing every morning. The hotel itself is very clean, modern and intimate with only 4 rooms. We enjoyed staying here and felt beyond safe and happy with our choice. Elisabeth and Alex were amazing and always interacted with us, making us feel like we were staying with friends. All of the staff are lovely and very helpful and Scooby is extra special 🐾

    location was cool, its not beach front but you can walk to the beach ( 3-5 min walk). Its a family run business so the breakfast was made fresh and great. Very affordable for kendwa. good for 2 night stay

    The location is excellent , right next to the best beach in Zanzibar . There are several cheap local restaurants and a liquor store next to the hotel. Spacious rooms with a fridge. European style bathroom. Very clean. Nice helpful service. It's very safe here. Breakfast served on the top floor in the hotel restaurant is sufficient (fruit, tea, coffee, juice, eggs). The owner is friendly and communicative. You can pay by credit card. Wifi works flawlessly.
