We had all we needed for cookware to cook for a group of 10. We didn't realize we couldn't use a credit card up there but Gravin came to the rescue and so we were able to get the food we needed at the little store there. Gravin was so accommodating and a great host! We can't wait to come back.

There are enough blankets for the night when it gets cold. The bathroom was also super neat and clean. The garden is beautiful, with lots of flowers that attract the hummingbirds. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. There are huge portions that are fresh and delicious. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. One of the best accommodations we have stayed in Costa Rica. There are various hiking trails from the accommodation into the cloud forest and to waterfalls.

Situated in San Gerardo de Dota in the San José region, Hospedaje Casa Monge features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The property is non-smoking and is located 17 km from Cerro de la Muerte. It felt very private with the sound of the river and the other properties being quite far. It offers some great trails up the river, the house had some great views by itself, and we were even lucky enough to catch a Quetzal on their lookout point. Best value for the zone imo.
