The Houses of History is located on the shore of Belső-tó in Tihany, on a half hectare area, a 5-minutes walking distance from the city centre. The 200-years-old historic listed building gives the ambience of the 19th century. Some of the rooms have views of the Belső-tó. Amazing Hotel, really nice room, great toiletries, etc. The breakfast is the best hotel buffet I had in a long time. But the best thing about this hotel is the atmosphere, the buildings are beautifully restored thatched dependencies of the monastery. Staying here is a no brainer if you pass by the Balaton lake area.

The location is great, really close to the lake. We liked our room and the staff was great. You can take bikes for free which is great (you only need to leave a deposit but it was like 20euros which was fine)
