The safari tour was guided by Sudesh who has eagle's vision for spotting wild life from miles away. He'd helped us to spot snake, monitor lizard, all kinds of birds, crocodiles and definitely a leopard resting on a tree 20m away.

The campground has a picnic area where you can spend a day out in the open. - the staff: very friendly, approachable, and helpful. It felt like we were staying at friends. They always looked after our every need, prepared our breakfast at 5 in the morning before we went on a safari trip, and gave us coconuts and mango's free of charge while we were staying on the beach which is right in front of the house - the location: deep inside Kirinda, a perfect nature retreat with absolutely no outside world interference. A beautiful garden adorned with decorations. Acces to a wild, wide beach with the most amazing waves ever. - breakfast was very good. We ate the best mango ever, from one of the staff's personal little gardens. Bonus: they have a special custom - every guest can write something on their walls - we did too.

Yala Mobile Camping inside the National Park is situated in Katagamuwa. This campground features free private parking and full-day security. On clear days, guests can head outside to enjoy the campground's outdoor fireplace or simply kick back and relax. We initially thought this booking would be similar to other standard camping sites, but we were delighted to discover that this is genuine mobile camping inside Yala National Park—a truly unique offering. We understand that securing the necessary government permissions is a lengthy process, often requiring at least a week's advance notice. Although we made our reservation just one day prior, the team worked hard to coordinate everything. While this meant we had to wait a few extra hours at the main gate, the effort was absolutely worthwhile, providing an amazing, lifetime experience deep in the wild. We enjoyed a full-day and a half-day safari, and during both excursions, we were lucky enough to consistently spot leopards, elephants, and a wealth of other animals. The entire experience was incredibly rewarding, and we are 100% satisfied with our choice. Thank you to the dedicated team for taking such great care of us during our stay inside the park.

The campground features a sun terrace and a picnic area. Very lovely family, from the mother who cooks delicious food..fish her husband had caught that day.., the daughter who took us on the lagoon bird spotting trip, and the niece anxious to help out as well. Breakfast was also delicious.

Boasting a garden and views of river, Mallara RestSafari (Cabana & Family Restaurant) is a recently renovated campground situated in Malasnegalewewa, 42 km from Udawalawe National Park. This campground features free private parking and free shuttle service. The campground has family rooms. Had a wonderful experience staying at the RestSafari. The place is set up in a big area where one can rest comfortably, and looks out on the jungle, where many animals (mainly buffaloes, peacocks, elephants, varanes, foxes) pass by during the day/night. Owners (and staff) are taking good care and are very friendly & relaxed. Nice campfires and surprisingly few mosquitoes. Slept really well in the cabana (great experience!) in a nice, natural breeze, and my room had a nice viewing spot to lay down and look out over the jungle area. Possible to take safari’s from here. The food/drinks served were also real good. Happy to have stayed/rested here. For directions: many (if not all) busses from Ella/Wellawaya to Matara/Tissamaharama will pass close by the RestSafari. Get off at 22 Junction (bus drivers know). It will cost about Rs. 200-350, and from the Junction you can take a local bus, tuktuk or arrange something with the RestSafari.

There is a seating and a dining area in all units. Fantastic experiences with amazing staff team. I admire their professionalism, especially when paying attention onto the details. Definitely a recommendation to any experienced travelers.

Family tents are provided based on requirement. All tents are fitted with comfortable beds, mattresses and pillows. Free drinking water will be provided. All bathrooms are equipped with a Hot & Cold shower. We stayed at Big Game safari camp for 2 nights, we had a very stylish glamping tent that we stayed in - it was very comfortable and immersive in the jungle nature. Big Game organised a full day safari for us which was amazing! We saw so many animals (tusk elephants, leopard, sloth bear, crocodiles, water buffalo, etc). They prepared great breakfast, lunch & dinners for us also & we really enjoyed our time at Big Game. Would recommend to a friend!

Everything was super nice, great dinner, friendly staff, the safari was great. They had wine and a very nice pool. We had complementary walks. Would definitely recommend. One of a kind experience.
