We enjoyed its romantic setting, pretty infinity pool set in a jungle garden, stellar hosts--and chefs!--cleanliness and welcoming vibes, as well as their delicious complimentary breakfasts and other gourmet meals which were available to buy. Our hosts were super helpful and accessible. The rooms are equipped to cook for yourself, and there's a small market about a 15 minute walk up the road--though you'd be missing out on the hotels very good and very reasonable restaurant. The area hasn't become another "Nosara/Miami/Hawaii"--not yet anyway--so come now and enjoy the food, the uncrowded beach, the infinity pool, birding and the howler monkeys.
