Reviews we read of Shkoder said it's a university town with lots of biking. Not sure what those reviewers were writing about, but there weren't many bike friendly areas and the town was not as vibrant as we expected. We did spend some time in the Shiroka area on the lake a 10 minute or so drive from Shkoder and that was very nice - good restaurants and lake activities. Shkoder is a lovely city with great views, food and nice accommodation facilities. It's a safe place for families and youths with lots of activities around. We really enjoyed our time in Shkoder.
We really enjoyed our time in Shkoder. I liked how there was plenty to do and see in town, and also very close to Theth which is a must see. We also booked a tour of the Shalla River and that was beautiful too! The thing that was challenging was riding on the local buses that don’t always have good air conditioning and are full with passengers in the summer months.Guest review byMcMellen

The best thing about this hotel is its location. The facility is well kept but old and required some TLC. Breakfast is mainly processed foods except for couple of items with one cup of coffee ration. This is not our experience in Albania where almost everything is fresh and local and generous. It is owner operated and they are pretty helpful. We were also able to leave our luggage for no extra charge. All in all a one night stay was just enough.Guest review byWalidCanada
