    I love the little town. Lovely square.

    I love the little town. Lovely square. Nice walk around the like. If you love hiking the place to visit. So much to do. Easy access. People were very nice and helpful. I didn't have a great weather but as they say it's not bad weather but wrong clothes 😆.

    It’s a lovely town with access to the lake and a local rail/tram network. Various cultural activities and we timed it nicely for the annual ceramics fair. We used it as a base from which to travel to visit friends locally but it was relaxing and a lovely stay.

    Gmunden is an amazing undiscovered place which deserves a larger tourist crowd than it currently has. It is the best place to stay in Salzkammergut as it allows easy access to all attractions in the region, but still this is a town and not a village.

    Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Gmunden lacks a decent 4/5 star hotel. There are a couple which are adequate 3 stars.

    Quaint lake town. Highly recommend a short overnight trip. Enjoy dinner at Hackall restaurant. Amazing pizza. But make reservations. Take an electric boat for an affordable lake experience. Apartment accommodations were great

    Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds. The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing. There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake. Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people. Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions. We also reccomend Hotel Zum Goldenen Hirschen in the city centre with a luxury design and very nice staff.

    Hotel Esplanade is amazing. My room has no bathtub, just shower, but the view is facing the lake. Everything is super clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is warm at night inside the room and shower is great. The breakfast (starting 730am) was very good too. I would like to thank staff member Ms Day for making my stay wonderful.  The view from my room is great. Note the supermarket is at right downstairs the hotel. It is closed on Sunday but opens 715am on Monday so it is convenient.

    Great location in Gmunden, close to all points of interest. Possibility to use local tram to reach destinations, but nothing is too far for walk. Literally few minutes to lake, restaurants, swimming area. 15 mins to cableway leading to great outlook. Apartment is modern, clean and you can find everything you need. Owner Nina is friendly, kind and provides lot of useful information and tips. We really enjoyed our stay here. PERFECT.

    Although we typically only stay at brand hotels, this was a very positive exception! The owner was super kind and helpful-was expecting us. Service was great! The town was great! And the owner’s recommendation for dinner… was the best meal we’ve had on our trip! Go to Weinstube Spies for the best meal and desert and service!

    Great accommodation in a lovely area of Gmunden, with a beautiful view from the terrace to Traunsee and the mountains and excellent communication with the host. I truly enjoyed every minute of my stay and can’t wait to return! Highly recommended!

    The hotel was tiny which created an approachable family atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. The highlight has to be the breakfast, beyond the 4 star quality you get anywhere else.
