Location in the hills gave us a very comfortable experience with easy access to hiking, village activities, and relaxation. included breakfast had limited selections but enough to keep us well fed and ready to explore. The "turndown service" with a glass of port and handmade chocolate ended each day with a lovely note.

Adelaide: Australia's Undiscovered Gem

Coming from Melbourne, which is now sprawling everywhere, it seemed like a delightful, large country town. The locals all seem to love their city and there are so many festivals, galleries, eating places, parks and things to do, not just in the city but in the surrounding areas.

Public transport around the place is very good.

Public transport around the place is very good. We found the timetable and stops confusing. We managed to get on the wrong tram and also didn’t get off the bus at the right spot so found ourselves on the way back to where we’d boarded. I think a more tourist friendly printed map would be very handy. Apart from that, Glenelg, botanic gardens, museum art gallery, markets all fantastic the locals are very helpful and friendly. Love the mix of old buildings with new.

Very beautiful place and absolute joy to visit, has a very friendly, fun and easy vibe to it. So much to do for kids and adults!! Food and dining was excellent! Accomodation great! We had hot and cold weather and enjoyed every minute. The scenery was spectacular.

The tram system it appears is free.

The tram system it appears is free. We decided to take a trip into the Adelaide Hills to the German village of Hahndorf which is very pretty with lots of cafes and boutique style shops. We purchased two metro cards from a newsagents for $30 which took us to and from Hahndorf which we thought was very good value with buses running quite late. You could also just use a credit card to board the bus which may have been an even cheaper way of going as it was $5 for the card, $5 there and $5 back. We also took a walk through the city and arrived at the Botanical Gardens where we spent a Sunday morning. We left the metro cards for any staff cleaning the rooms as money could be added to them.

There was so much to like about Mount Lofty House- our corner Piccadilly valley view room was luxurious and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and accommodating- the service was really second to none. Also the views and hotel grounds are simply stunning. It was only a short drive from Adelaide CBD too. It doesn’t surprise me that this place is rated one of the best accommodation in Australia.

Didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel but several very good cafes within 10 minutes walk. Hotel is close to public transport but quite a long way from CBD attractions such as the Zoo, Theatres, Adelaide oval. We were caught out one night when a football game finished at the same time as a footy game and had to walk as there was no room on buses, trams, Ubers or taxis.

Breakfasts at the French restaurant were phenomenal, staff fantastic, great pool, jacuzzi and gym.
