Its a busy service centre , its easy to get around but your...
Its a busy service centre , its easy to get around but your own transport is a bonus, The two main commercial centres are a couple of km apart. The airport is in the middle of town and the flight path goes straight over the CBD and Chinatown. Quite startling to watch a big jet wheels down thundering low overhead. There is an hourly bus service to Cable beach and back during the tourist season with convenient stops along the way. Good shopping in Broome, supermarkets and general stores for everything you need. A broad range of accommodation options from the luxury high end to back packer places. Kimberley Travellers Lodge was nice, low cost comparatively and handy to the CBD and walking distance to the airport Chinatown and the airport. Definitely go to Cable Beach, a great location, good safe swimming with lifeguards and adjacent food outlets..the Divers Tavern is great as is the General Store by the RAC campground. There lots to do in and around Broome and its brimming with history and good views, easy walking and adjacent to the sea for cooling breezes.Guest review byGarthNew Zealand - 10.0

Loved the relaxed attitude of the locals, everyone so friendly and helpful. So there was a nice ambience. Getting around without a car was tricky as there is an uncordinated taxi arrangement but we did manage, so thanks to the taxi drivers. There was also extreme variation to price for same distance - up to 100%. Dined at a variedty of locations and found we liked the Wharf best. Loved the day trip to horizontal falls but would advise travellers to research the timing and implications of neep tide. Whale search was fun and productive on one trip. Camel ride also a lot of fun. As the Courthouse was in town we could walk everywhere, a good variety of places to eat, we liked DMK Balinese restaurant opposite Coles, Ginreab Thai, Mr Song Vietnamese. Papa Fuego Argentinian food was amazing, Matsos Brewery and the Roey do good food too. Tourist information just down the road, very helpful staff. Plenty of activities you can do from Broome, lots to see and do. We have done Horizontal Falls by air and that was amazing. Helicopter flight to Eco Beach a great day out. Snubfin Dolphins and Whale watching, Dinosaur footprint too fabulous. We have done all these trips more than once! Broome is a beautiful place with so much to do and amazing food I would recommend at least 10 days to do everything. Cable beach is amazing but quite expensive you can split your say with luxury and then the backpackers in town. Also a starting place for many Kimberly tours. a sunset cruse is a must. Baramundi wings at the Wharf are fabulous. the bus service was great in May, it has changed since now only hourly and stops from 13:30 to 15:45. so you may need to hire a car or scooter.Guest review byMeganAustralia - 8.0

Broome was good, the taxi driver from the airport ripped us off. The hop on off bus wasn’t working, terrible for visitors, perhaps the council should treat visitors with a bit more respect and I am sure it would pay off.
