Lovely town and the most friendly people.

Lovely town and the most friendly people. There are some lovely hom,es and public buildings and the town looks prosperous. We are delighted that we chose to stop off at Dungog. I had always known it as Doug Walters' town. Many years ago I was fortunate to be able to have a few draughties with Doug, while he had a few durries. He was accompanied by Len Pascoe. My wife and I have begun to seek out bigger country towns, which we have passed through too many times before. We are enjoying the experiences. This year we even visited Newcastle for the first time, and are pleased that we have.

Dungog is a terrific country town which blends its history with modern thinking and facilities - a hospital, schools, recreation facilities all being here. A solid population of locals allow for heaps of businesses and attractions to have been established.

It is a nice country town.

It is a nice country town. Very nice views, green fields and rolling mountain sides and animals in the paddock. The shops that were open had a nice historical feel and art deco. Downside limited shops open and museum was closed.

It is a typical old style NSW country town, well maintained with a nice park and very nice surroundings. Not a great choice of restaurants open when I was there on a Tuesday, but I did enjoy the few hours I spent walking the main street and side streets. I travelled by train to reach the town, station is just a block from the main street. Be aware if you do use the train, it is always replaced by a bus in the direction of Newcastle on Wednesday mornings, took ages to reach to the point where I was to change to a train to Sydney where the bus did not arrive in time for my Sydney connection
