I travelled to Port Welshpool Beach and walked along its long pier, Yarram, Leongatha and Wilson’s Promontory during my stay. Each place was easy to get to, distances weren’t huge and the drives very pleasant taking in the history and treasures of this part of the Gippsland.

The motel is a 5 minute walk to Foster but we drove as we were going to see a play put on by the local dramatic society, which was excellent. The town is lovely with vegetables and herbs growing in the nature strips and people can take what they want for free. We had a tasty meal at the hotel and watched some Netflix on the large TV in our room. The next day we went for an easy drive to Fish Creek and Inverloch, with beautiful views all the way.

Foster Exchange Hotel has good meals.

Foster Exchange Hotel has good meals. Supermarket in town centre with all essentials. Various other shopping in town. Wilson Promontory only 55minute drive to Tidal River. Approximately 35minutes to Darby River, Waratah Bay or Walkerville Beaches. Many interesting bushwalking tracks in and around Wilsons Promontory with plenty of Wildlife and fresh air. Great get away from city life.

A good base for exploring Wilsons Prom and surrounds.

A good base for exploring Wilsons Prom and surrounds. Foster was smaller than we expected but that was a plus as we like smaller places. Our motel was unable to allow us to dine at their restaurant as a large group was staying but we had a good meal at the nearby Fish Creek pub.

A beautiful little town, you could say a hidden gem. Great shopping and food. Friendly locals who don't mind a chat. Beautiful parks and gardens around town. Excellent information centre. Eating at the Exchange Hotel is a must. Delicious food, and huge portions. You will not go hungry. Very close to Fish Creek, another beautiful spot to visit.

Foster is a nice little town with all you need for a short stay. It has a variety of shops where food can be purchased. It also has a petrol station. It is well situated for trips to Wilson’s Promontory and many other places of interest.

The location is great for exploring the Foster area. We were on a cycling tour and the house isn’t too far off the Sth Gippsland Rail Trail, plus it’s less than 1km to walk into town, and we enjoyed a good meal at the Golf Club, which is literally across the road. Traffic noise was light, nice outlook at rear, house is renovated and comfy, with lots of hot water, good kitchen facilities, and revere-cycle AC/heating. Loads of games and books for wet weather too.

Great little lodge nestled in the bush at the edge of quiet little Foster. Foster is a great location to bed down. You can easily explore the south coast from Inverloch to Wilson's Prom to Port Albert. Hotel roomm clean and relatively modern. Bathrooms were clean and modern. I enjoyed how quiet the lodge and the town is. The lodge was full bby morning but we didn't hear a peep out of all the arriving guests. Little library at the front.

The cottage is situated along with 2 other cottages in a beautiful garden, adjacent to the landlord's house. We very much enjoyed sitting on the landing and relaxing with the garden view. It is 5 minutes to get to Foster for shopping, and about 30 minutes to the border of the national park. We very much enjoyed it.

The only motel in town was a 2 minute walk to supermarket, shops, café and hotel. The room was clean and had supplied us with crockery, cutlery and plates, toaster and kettle. Tea and coffee.
