I was in Bangladesh partly for tourism and partly to deliver a seminar. We booked the Holiday Inn primarily because it was located centrally and close to places we wanted to visit. We expected a standard, so-called business hotel; comfortable and good value for money without being exceptional. We were wrong! The hotel is fantastic. It is very new and so everything is new and shiny. The rooftop swimming pool is spectacular. The rooms are lavishly appointed and the bathrooms are very plush. A nice touch is the button at the bottom centre of the mirror in the bathroom. Pressing that lights up a the rim of the mirror all around; makes for a great shaving (me) or make up experiment (wife). The breakfast buffet is extensive and sumptuous. But if there is one things that sets the hotel apart, it is the courteousness and helpfulness of the staff. In general people in Bangladesh are unfailingly polite. The hotel was no exception. Staff were so friendly that we were overwhelmed by their kindness. I want to make special mention of a few people. Alam in house-keeping. I have seldom met such a hard-working and conscientious man. He was unfailingly cheerful and helpful. I understand that Alam is currently cross-training to start working in the reception. I sincerely hope he gets the job. He will be a wonderful face to a wonderful hotel. I love guavas. Everyday at breakfast they had excellent guavas except for the last day. I happened to talk to Sharmin and I said "Hey no guavas? I love your guavas. They were the best I have ever had." To my consternation, Sharmin appeared a little later with two plates of freshly cut guavas! This was beyond my expectation and I really felt embarrassed since I was meaning to complement the hotel and not complain. But at every step of the way, the staff at the hotel went out of their way to make us feel welcome and valued. I will almost certainly look to say at the Holiday Inn when I visit Bangladesh next.

Excellent facilities (soundproof!), clean, nice staff, hot water, fresh fruit delivered to room, generous breakfast buffé.

Reception Staff + plus other ( especially simul) was amazing and helpful .even they allowed me to check in a bit earlier .food was great after good sleep . (9.9/10 .overall), the chef was professionally cooked breakfast

The stay was very comfortable. I loved the rooms, they were clean, had comfortable beds. The reception desk was very helpful. Their breakfast buffet is excellent! their restaurant manager is very professional and caring, the staff will personally look after your comfort. They also made chai for me every day. The food, apart from the buffet, is also excellent. Their taste and portion sizes are really good. They also have 24 hours room service so food is available all the time hence they do not allow outside food. The location is very convenient as its right opposite karwan bazaar metro, CNGs or autos, rickshaws, and cabs are easily available from there. the only draw back is that there is come construction going on... and hence cabs will not enter into the lane, but you can easily walk to the hotel via the lane. You can use star kababs as location and then take the lane next to Hero Honda show room. They are also very close to Basundhara city Mall.

the staff were excellent - above and beyond Ayesha Pronoy Saju Nur and especially Munni at breakfast were really great. ashik at the coffee shop cafe on Lebel G - great guy

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional.This was my 5th or 6th visit to this hotel I am not sure, Everytime I stayed there it feels like home.
