Chocolate Capital of Europe

Brussels is well-known as the headquarters of many European institutions and is often called the capital of Europe. However, Belgian waffles, beer and chocolate are just a few of the city’s best-known delicacies that can rival its political reputation.

French and Dutch are city’s two official languages so all streets and landmarks have two different names: don’t be surprised when you look for Grand Place and end up on Grote Markt!

Don’t miss the famous bronze statue aptly named Manneken Pis or the futuristic Atomium, a truly unique architectural creation. Wandering through side streets to discover small bookshops, romantic cafés and ethnic restaurants reveals Brussel's charm.

Brussels is a real melting pot of Europe, filled with great museums and art from Memling, Bosch or Rubens, historic breweries and great concert halls. Shopping addicts can visit the world’s first shopping mall, the Saint Hubert Gallery, opened here in 1847.

If you’re arriving at Brussels Airport or South Charleroi Airport, all major attractions are just a short train or bus ride away. Whether you’re looking for a design hotel, a comfortable apartment or a friendly B&B, Booking.com has something perfect for your Brussels trip.

It was fun, a bit grittier than I expected.

It was fun, a bit grittier than I expected. It still had plenty of character, decent restaurants, more expensive than I expected. But going there was just a jumping off point for other towns in Belgium.

Brussels is a vibrant city rich in history, culture, and architecture. From the stunning Grand Place to the charming streets lined with cafés and chocolate shops, it offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern energy. For those staying in Brussels, it’s also worth exploring nearby cities like Bruges, which is not far and offers a beautiful, peaceful experience with its canals, medieval buildings, and relaxed atmosphere.

Brussels is a beautiful city with excellent food, friendly tour guides and much to see. I only had 1.5 days for sightseeing and I enjoyed eating the St. Catherine area. I recommend a walking tour the first day to get the lay of the land. Then I recommend a bus tour to Bruges and Ghent as well. I wish I had time to visit the many museums.

Brussels is a city best explored on foot, where cobblestone lanes link centuries of history with modern Belgian creativity. The heart of the city, the Grand Place, dazzles with its UNESCO-listed 17th-century guildhalls and vibrant energy both day and night. A few minutes away, neighborhoods like Marolles and Sablon invite wandering through antique shops, flea markets, and art galleries framed by Gothic and Art Nouveau façades.Beer lovers find plenty to celebrate: from iconic spots like Delirium Café, home to thousands of brews, to smaller local projects which experiment with lambic and gueuze styles . Whether you’re sipping in a trendy bar or strolling past comic murals along quiet side streets, Brussels offers an experience that’s as eclectic as it is effortlessly charming.

It will help to book every entrance in advance(cost-efficiency it is much better). If you would be tempted to buy Brussels city card it will help if you have a plan made before you activate the card, to benefit much more from the card. If you want to visit just 2 or 3 places i don't recommend to buy it. City has a lot of free places as well to visit,

Brussels is a beautiful city — clean and well-organized.

Brussels is a beautiful city — clean and well-organized. Getting around Brussels was super easy and convenient. Fries and delicious waffles were everywhere—I couldn’t get enough of them! :)) The beers I tried were all great, though a bit pricier than in other countries I’ve been to. Still, definitely worth it. And the chocolate? Simply the best in the world. I also visited Bruges—such a stunning city, absolutely loved it! I would definitely love to visit again! <3

The hotel is an attractive building, in an excellent location, within easy walking distance of the city centre. Our suite was very comfortable, with three excellent rooms, a large hallway, good views, and excellent in-room amenities (eg large fridge, good coffee machine, powerful shower). Breakfast was excellent, in fact I could not find anything requiring improvement in the breakfast offering; probably the best breakfast I have had in Brussels.

Very good breakfast with multiple choices. Very friendly staff and a big room. Close to everything in the city center. 20 minutes by train from the airport and the train station is 200 meters away. Metro station is also almost below the hotel. If thinking about meetings at Europa quarter, it's 25 minutes walk or 10 minutes by metro. 10 minutes walk to Grand Place.

This was my second stay in the Motel One. I chose this hotel because of its location (very close to museums and city center). The value for the money is good. It is not the high end hotel but you get what you are paying for. Good for short stays (I went to Brussels just for the weekend).

The hotel is small and located right in the city center of Brussels, making it an ideal starting point for visiting the city. The breakfast, while not very extensive, was tasty. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom featured a bathtub and shower.
