The location of the hotel is perfect. It's as downtown as it gets and there's a taxi stand next to the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds have good and comfy pillows! The staff is very friendly. We got a lot of information on Ghent drawn on a map. It also is a cozy place with a beautiful bar and another space to hang out that has an honesty bar. Around the hotel there are lots of restaurants and other food options.

Very nice wee hotel in Ghent. It is within walking distance to the old town and roughly 10 min from the main train station. The room was small, yet functional. It was quiet and clean. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. We were able to store our bags there before and after check out. There are a few food options around and a small park. There is a coffee machine and water cooler in the lobby. It is all very new and modern. Really nice place.

+Big thank you to Alix, Glen and Simon. They were so supportive and helpfull all the time. They have made anything to make us feel at home. +The garden, atmosphere, interior design were sooo great. You suddenly find yourself in somewhere like a farm house right in the city, just amazing! +You are allowed to use the kitchen facilities. +Giant room with high ceiling and a big bath. +Bed and pillows were so comfy. +5 mins walking to station, and 10-12 mins walking to the centre. Perfect location. +It was so peaceful and quiet, we would love to visit again for sure.

FAQs about hotels in Ghent

A Historical, Cultural and Culinary Gem

Located in the Flemish region of Belgium, the beautiful medieval city of Ghent is a city of history and romance. It's full of hidden historical, cultural and culinary gems that you can easily discover.

The Gravensteen or "Castle of the Count" is a deceptively enchanting sight dating back to the Middle Ages. Constructed by Philip of Alsace, the count of Flanders, it's partially surrounded by a moat and beautifully restored, and hosts an interesting museum about the history of prison life.

Part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, the Belfry of Ghent is a medieval tower overlooking the Old Town centre. Saint Bavo Cathedral and Saint Nicholas' Church are the city's other two towers, with St. Nicholas' Church being one of the oldest landmarks in Ghent.

Enjoy a relaxing walk in the picturesque medieval streets and stop at one of the charming traditional restaurants for Belgium beer and a classic Flemish meat stew with French fries. Local delicacies include the popular Belgium chocolate and the purple jelly-filled candies called the "noses".

Antwerp International Airport is 32 miles away, while Brussels Airport is 34 miles. Just book your hotel, guest house, apartment, or B&B through Booking.com and discover everything this stunning city has to offer.

It is a beautiful city and we enjoyed strolling, eating and drinking there. We took a boat trip and it was very enjoyable. We attended a football match Belgium v North Macedonia and were disappointed that there didn't seem to be much match atmosphere around the city, or even the stadium. There were no stalls selling colours or scarves.

Ghent is one of the most attractive northern European cities boasting magnificent and extensive 16th and 17th century architecture and its cathedral is home to some major artwork of historic importance. There is a wide range of restaurants and bars. The free walking tours are highly recommended for a good introduction to the city, its history and its many sights and a great way to begin a visit.

Ghent is the mix city between the 'historical' Bruges and the 'student' city of Leuven and the 'advanced' city of Antwerp. So visiting Ghent gives you a feeling of a young, progressive city that did not forget it's past. Do not come to Ghent if you want to see one aspect of Belgian life - Ghent has, gives and lives it all to the fullest. Next to that the unconventionallity, little rebelry is still giving it, its own nature - not to be compared to any city. This city contains own, foreignand mixed cultures so any corner you turn will amaze.

We were so pleased to choose Ghent as our base as it was an authentic and friendly city. We spent 2 days exploring the Castle, a boat tour, Ghent Museum and botanical gardens were all stand outs for us. We also did day trips out to Bruges (22mins by train, great but mor touristy), Brussels (30mins by train), Ostend (40mins by train, Atlantic Wall Museum is well worth it), Ypres (1hr10 by train to learn about WW1). It was lovely to go out and return to lovely Ghent. We walked everywhere but trams, buses and taxis were available. Flemish, French and English are widely spoken and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome.

We were lucky to end up with a private bathroom instead of a shared one - I could see it was not the nicest of their rooms/bathrooms but more than we expected so a very welcomed surprise! The room had extra pillows, a fan, and a mosquito net in one of the windows. Late self check-in was easy, staff was very nice and helpful, and the 12€ buffet breakfast was good namely considering Belgium prices. Reception and breakfast room nicely decorated.

We had a wonderful stay at Ganda Rooms and Suites and really enjoyed the city of Ghent. We used it as a home base to visit Ypres and Bruges, both of which we'd highly recommend, but Ghent was our favorite city in Belgium. Annik & Kristof are wonderful hosts, and their home is beautiful. We enjoyed the breakfast with fresh baked bread, meats, muesli, fruit, and eggs made to order. We would highly recommend a stay here

This location is an area where a lot of students are around. The university is close to it. You have to walk a bit to go to the town center. Close to it is a parking lot where you can park for 9,50€ a day. That’s cheap for Belgium. The personal was really kind to us. The room was cozy and the bath was really nice. Also the breakfast was really good and you can make wishes for the special things you want.
