Cannot gush enough about this place!! It was fabulous! From the large rooms, to the calm view from our windows (request the back of the building). The breakfast was DELICIOUS and I wish I had asked to buy some of the gluten free rolls to bring home with me. The spa is very close and people in our party used it every day! (sometimes more than once). So many wonderful walks can be taken in the area too. Cristian, who was a man of all trades, was WONDERFUL! He got us taxis, made delicious breakfasts, was always friendly and accommodating. He even, very kindly, opened up the breakfast room early before our daughter and son-in-law had to leave.

We had a very good experience staying in the hotel. We have been traveling across Europe for almost 2 weeks, and this is the best hotel that we stayed during our Eurotrip. The hotel is situated near a Tram/Metro station, which is very convenient if you're arriving by Train. There is also a grocery next to the hotel, helpful if you need to grab any snacks. When we first arrived in the hotel, the reception staff, Hassine, was really helpful. He provided us with a city map, gave some recommendations, and also helped us to make the overall check-in process seamless. The hotel also provide umbrella, which guest can borrow during their stay. The bedroom and bathroom were really spacious, clean, and complete with all the amenities. Really value for money considering its affordable room rate with all of its perks. Definitely will stay again here when we visit Brussels in the future.

    Lovely town, the abbey is GORGEOUS!

    Lovely town, the abbey is GORGEOUS! So many great, relaxing places to stroll. We walked around the Prinsenbos and met a man named Didier Francois (a musician) who very kindly talked to us about the 'lost wax' casting class he was teaching. Highly recommend eating at Fenikshof, and definitely sampling the beers from the Abbey

    A sleepy town with everything you need, from restaurants to shops. We especially enjoyed the local brewery, even though none of the staff there explained to us (and didn't even know!!!) our most popular batch of Grimbergen beer, namely "blanche", which is not produced in the brewery at all, so it is a mystery to me where it is bottled and why it is not sold at all in Belgium, unlike, for example, Switzerland or Italy.

    The bathroom had mold on the walls.

    The bathroom had mold on the walls. The bed was no boxspring but 10 cm from the ground. A lot of steps inside the room. Old furniture. everything was tired, old and dirty. Time to completely renovate the place!

    This is a lovely town with lots of beautiful areas for walking a short, or long distance. The Fenikshof has great food and beer, and the local frituur (near the Sports Hall) had perfect Belgian frites. The abbey is a must see and the night we were there, they were having a silent movie festival with the beautiful pipe organ providing live music!

    The location was superb. The service was superb. This BnB was better than a standard 4 stars hotel. Normally I don’t care for breakfast where I stay, but the breakfast of Caroline, was very delicious. Freshly prepared and different options. You get the feeling that you being cared by your own mom. There’s also free parking spots. The room was also perfect. The details of the room were perfect and very clean. If you’re staying in this BnB, is money well spent.

    I haven’t been this positively surprised by a place in a long time. The hotel is beautiful, stylish, spotlessly clean, and very welcoming. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful. I will definitely come back!

    Central location with nice local restaurants and bars etc. Nice staff and breakfast facilities although there was no menu on show so we asked for a menu to takeaway and were refused therefore we did not eat at the hotel during our stay.
